I always liked this arthur. Hidden gem, is right. Quiet little Hoffman vehicle highlighting how tough it was for ex-lags. As you say based on that career-crim guy Bunker who showed up later in Reservoir Dogs? We saw a similar mini-storyline to the black getaway driver in Heat.
