On the subject of Lionheart, has anyone mixed the two volumes together to form 1 complete album and if so what track order do they have?

Not sure whether to do that or keep the two albums separate.

In answer to my own question, I found the below. Reposting it here in case anyone else is interested...

1.-The Future
2.-The Ceremony
3.-The Castle
4.-Brim Him Back
5.-Failed Knight
6.-The Circus
7.-Robert & Blache
8.-Children in Bondage
9.-Gates of Paris
10.-Paris Underground
11.-The Road from Paris
12.-The Banner
13.-The Dress
14.-Mathilda
15.-The Plague
16.-The Forest
17.-The Lake
18.-The Wrong Flag
19.-Final Flight
20.-King Richard

Coverart for the "Deluxe Edition" below

I believe The Future minus the end credit reprise goes after Robert and Blanche when Blanche describes a vision she has seen of Robert’s future. Deleted scene I think.

I have the 3 releases so this information is appreciated. Thanks Martin and Gold.

Is this me? I am having troubles with the idea of sharing music for right now...some of it has to do with the fact that this forum loves some composers (including many of my favorites) who set the bar so high it's very intimidating for me.

I for DARN sure ain't Rozsa, Morricone Herrmann, Goldsmith, Alfred Newman, and oh heck FORGET about Williams and Herrmann. Those guys are just incredible, I'm not even a gnat compared to them.

However, I get paid for making trailers (one good sized MMP and a whole bunch of smaller and independent) under another pseudonym, and I've scored about a half dozen independent films and at least a dozen college things. I also have two releases in the Rock opera genre (though the music has a lot of heavy orchestration and concert-level composition alternating with the good ole crash and bang) with some cult heroes on vocals. I make royalties on those CDs of course, as well as merchandising for the project.

I realize I didn't need to disclose all that, but I like you (and practically everyone here) and felt that both you and everyone else here deserved a full and respectful answer.

DAGNABBIT ... If YOU ain't the Russki spy on here putting out misinformation, then who ....???? ...

RED ALERT, RED ALERT .... IT'S NOT WAGNERA .... the Soviet plant is somebody else ... it's not Wagner ... there's a double agent spreading misinformation.

This means the REAL troll was ....

STOP THE CONTRACT! Call back that Oswald guy before it's too late!!!!!

(Y'see now how it works folks ... spread a bad rumour, sugar coat it, and hope some suckers will feel 'knowing' if they agree).

We never doubted you WA. Have you targeted advertising agencies yet? They pay, and are good for exposure. And the video game market needs composers too.

I haven't really explored those commercial avenues yet. I know Zimmer has done a couple of games. I'm sure there's some good money.

I live pretty simply though (except for my collection of books, CDs, Hitch/Herrmann memorabilia, comics, blu rays and dvds of course lol!). I made sure to invest what I earned, so I'm always earning money on that.

I'm way more concerned with my concert music for right now. I finally completed the arrangement and orchestration for my second symphony, five movements! It took since last June to write it. It's still a ways away from a definitive symphony recording, though.

Yow I just went into left field. What other scores does Lionheart compare best to in the JG repetoire?

wink

WagnerAlmighty, how many hours are there in a day where you live? How can you possibly have time to listen to all these CDs you're suddenly buying?

I make money composing, arranging, and orchestrating. So all day is music, from when I get up to when I go to bed. I watch movies sometimes, but mostly I'm either listening to music casually or attentively (the latter usually means with the headphones on) when I'm not composing.

I write approximately six hours minimum a day, listen to music about four. Besides that I take walks, read (oops, actually I do that a lot when listening to music lol!).

I am very lucky to live this way, though I'm not exactly rich.

You truly answered....hummm.

That is pretty cool. Thank you for sharing and best of luck as you move forward in your career. I completely understand apprehension at sharing/posting your own work.

Is there anywhere I may hear clips from this score?

There are samples, some longer than 30 seconds, on the iTunes page for the Varese DE re-issue (assuming your country has this title available for purchase, you can also pick it up there for a fair price).

If you are an Apple Music subscriber, you could also stream the whole soundtrack (again, assuming it is available in your country).

Arggh, I'm really getting serious CDAS (CD Acquisition Syndrome) over the deluxe Lionheart!

WA, after having the one-disc edition for 20 years or so, I finally broke down and bought a copy of volume 2. Thanks to this thread, I listened to the extra five tracks again yesterday. And while I'm glad I have it, they really are mostly variations on material already very well represented on the one-disc album. Honestly not essential - the one-disc program is usually a little more than enough for me anyway. Still though, I did add them to the digital version for my own iPod listening, so who am I kidding?

I just found some vol. 2 cds on ebay for @$30, so not too pricey.

I think you're super smart for keeping your stuff. I wouldn't get rid of it, personally. However, you do have me checking up on vol.2 now wink

So you must have a website like most composers or a Soundcloud profile to advertise your work for potential customers?

Yes. Please give me some time, for the reasons mentioned above. I'm honestly sorry if my reticence bothers some folks here, however I suspect that this forum will respect my request for some privacy and patience.

I certainly don't think anyone here is really missing out by not hearing what I've written. You folks have terrific taste in music, and you're definitely better off listening to others.

Lionheart was a score I used to listen to a lot when it was first released. It was a score I lost track of over the years, until recently, when I was looking for another Goldsmith album. I was thinking of getting the two volumes, but found the 'deluxe editon' as a download.

I'm surprised this score hasn't been reissued by Varese.

That's what worries me about digital releases. After the fact, newer physical albums would have to be justified to the rights holders, who see convenience as the best way to do (repeat) business. There might be a window that was missed here.
