Did anyone ever consider that maybe Stylotone doesn't care what anyone thinks of their releases and they're just doing this for themselves? Some people create things not to be popular or successful, but merely because they want to do something THEIR way. I'm not saying this is what they're doing, but if it is, all the wishing and hoping and suggestions aren't going to do anyone any good. They'll just put you in a grouchy mood.
Maybe they are just vanity projects, like self-published books. Any sales are just incidental to the real goal. And what might that real goal be? Anything from self-aggrandizement to historical preservation. Take your pick.

Sounds like you're responding to the older posts in the topic. It's been YEARS since they've released anything, so "they're doing this for themselves" is meaningless. They're doing NOTHING, which is hardly the successful business model promised for the composer estates they bought. But then, I've heard of a label who has a bunch of unidentified Sawtell scores which probably won't see the light of day, so maybe it makes sense to you.
We know from MV that LP's are expensive and time consuming to produce and get out for sale. And we also know from passed comments that the niche limited edition releases still are mainly CD sellers, 'cause that's what people (for now) want.
I also wish LPs would disappear but then you'll have to explain me why there are so many LP labels releasing LP only (Italian French) scores, many of which can't be found online or on CD. So it seems to be quite the opposite at the moment.

I have no intention of spending thousands of dollars licensing Sawtell scores owned by the major studios. Our label's releases have never been vanity projects and we've made a profit on every single release. If you'd like to release any Sawtell scores, I'll be happy to put you in touch with the master rights owners and the music publishers and you can pay their fees and royalties to get the music out there.

I don't know if you have some inside information to say Stylotone cannnot currently sell copies of MARNIE but I'm fairly sure that that copies were never sold direct by Stylotone but were only available indirectly from record dealers (unlike TWISTED NERVE etc).
We can all have fun speculating as to the reasons for what seems to be either a temporary glitch or permanent end of Stylotone product but it's clear that the original intention was to swiftly follow on with at least PSYCHO and FAHRENHEIHT 451 and probably others, as stated by Norma Herrmann in her radio interview with Jonathan Ross in May 2016 when she said "We're going to do them all".
If Stylotone have ceased trading I wonder what happens to the licenses for which they seem to have paid a very large amount? Let's hope it doesn't mean that the titles rest in limbo with no company able to strike new deals. If Stylotone release nothing else, I for one, am grateful for them having produced such high quality deluxe products - true collector's items.

Stylotone still seems to exist as a company. Accounts were filed at Companies House just two days ago. Not surprisingly the balance sheet shows no expenditure and no income for the year ending 30 November 2022.
I simply repeat... Whatever happened to the Stylotone label?
Their LP/CD soundtracks releases were great but expensive so I guess not enough sales were made and to continue further at a financial loss would simply not be viable.
Would be nice if someone in the biz had some factual info to share. I've tried to find ways to contact them (not on Facebook or Twitter) and haven't had any luck getting a response.

I see that the Stylotone releases are again available from numerous UK retailers and at lower prices, even though I thought they were all supposedly sold out. MARNIE is available from Amazon at £22.95 with a release date of 8 December 2023. TWISTED NERVE is priced at £31.99 on Amazon although some retailers have it at a lower price and the release date is given as 22 September 2023. KHARTOUM is also on Amazon at a price of £22.95.
Curious that they've reappeared. Old stock discovered perhaps?
