This is regarding the CLASSIC FILM SCORES CD on the Naxos label (Naxos 8.990034), conducted by Richard Hayman. Has a painting of of Alfred Newman's Wuthering Heights on the cover. There is no track listing or image on soundtrackcollector .com

Can anyone tell me what Franz Waxman music is on track 13: MEDAL OF HONOR Suite (5:48)

Track 1: CLASSIC LOVE THEMES (15:15) is identified in the booklet: (Peyton Place, Rosana, Elephant Walk, The Lost Command, Peyton Place (Hilltop), Price Valiant).

Any help would be appreciated.

I would love to hear a re-recording of his great score to "Edge of Darkness". There is a arrangement of the Main Title:

Thank you, Lokutus.

And yes Chriss, EDGE OF DARKNESS does sound like a worthy project. I was unaware of it until you mentioned it here.

A Morgan/Stromberg Waxman WB War Years-Doubleheader would have been a dream project!

Edge of Darkness would also be a very good coupling for a new recording with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, since they both contain a prominent chorus. As for war doubleheaders, how about Edge of Darkness and Run Silent, Run Deep. The sequence following the Main Title music in Edge of Darkness is one of the greatest examples of film scoring that I have ever heard.

I must admit, I first saw EDGE OF DARKNESS only a couple of months ago. You know how in a great majority of films, sometimes only a handful of cues really grab you? The rest of the score may be just fine, but only that handful of cues really called you to attention. Well, in EDGE OF DARKNESS, just about every time the music starts you are in for a new thrill. I was really surprised this score has not been mentioned much previously. I immediately went to all those Varese collections conducted by Richard Mills to see if might I had missed it upon first listen, but, alas, nothing from EDGE OF DARKNESS.

If you are a Franz Waxman or Golden Age fan, you owe it to yourself to see this film and hear this score.

Yes, I've always regretted that Edge of Darkness was not included in the Mills re-recordings.
