First of all, Happy New Year to everyone here.

Just before Christmas, I picked up a new copy of Back To Gaya by Michael Kamen. It arrived in the mail and with the hubbub of the holiday, I didn't have a chance to even open it.

I just opened it moments ago and have not yet played it. However, after reading the liner notes (I try to do this before I play a piece that is new to me), I realize that the purchase of this score is worth the beauty of the liner notes alone. It appears to be a work done with love and sorrow as a tribute to the late Michael Kamen. It also reminds me of how much I love and miss this beautiful man and the amazing legacy he left us. About to listen to it now....

I just ordered it with some FSM titles from SAE.
I was listening to his Disney Dalmatians score recently, and it is a really enjoyable, sparkly bright work.

Man, I love his 101 Dalmatians score.

yup, it is melodic and truly symphonic and large, he was quite good at these comedic romps, even though it seems he is mostly related to action scoring.
