Many great ones have been mentioned (Sky Captain was a particularly wonderful surprise), but for me the release of the year is undoubtedly LLL's expanded Die Another Day.
Grand Razzie of the Year goes to Blade Runner 2049—not for the music, but for its Chernobyl of a release.
2017 was actually one of my less purchasing years since my collecting. Not saying anything bad about the releases but I guess I am just trying to have more careful choosing for my tastes. My favorites were E.T., Damnation Alley and Sodom and Gomorrah. Or was Sodom and Gomorrah released last year?

Sodom and Gomorrah was actually released two years ago. The big Tadlow releases this year were Duel in the Sun and Ben Hur.
As for newer film scores I know that is not something we are that happy to talk about, by Wonderstruck and Cello I think harken back to the day when movies had themes etc. CHECK these two great scores out.
Older scores released this year, my goodness I don't know, so many to choose from. I think the Franz Waxman box set is pretty darn incredible and La-La Lands Titanic and so many other great labels. Oh Twister by Mancina was a biggie for me.
Not to be the odd man out or anything, but I'm going with both volumes of Charlie Clouser's Saw Anthology and his new Jigsaw score for the newest movie in the series, which was also released the same month.
Ferrio - Sentenza di Morte Lavagnino - Il Relitto Rota - La Dolce Vita Piccioni - I Dolci Inganni Rossellini - Magistrato / Difendo Il Mio Amore Waxman box set Bernstein - Katie Elder

In referring to your avatar, I think the Legacy Edition of Robin Hood deserves a mention as well...
