Ahhh....Mel Brooks. I have so many favorites. BUT, I shall narrow them down to... The Twelve Chairs and Young Frankenstein. Sorry...that's the very best that I can do!

Blazing. So many priceless bits. Quotes i still use today in day to day conversation. Like when you see someone you dread "Never mind that shit, here's Mongo!"

Young Frankenstein hands down. However, Blazing Saddles runs second with no competition anywhere in sight. Those are in my opinion Brooks' two greatest by a good margin. Note: I have not seen The Producers, The Twelve Chairs, or Life Stinks (or To Be Or Not To Be).

Watched young frankenstein last night - havent watched it for about 3 months. It is a very funny film and right up there with blazing. Those two just had so many wall-to-wall funny bits. Many of this others - like producers, 12 chairs, had amusing moments but the later ones like spaceballs and men in tights seemed more aimed at kids and the humour changed, was a bit strained - but none seemed to match blazing and frankenstein for genuine send-up originality. "Randolph Scottt!" "Blucher!"

I quite liked history. It had moments. "its gud t be the king" was funny, especially the chess match, and "Your majesty, you look like the piss boy" ..."and you look like a bucket of shit!" and the roman sequence, the best of which was the two roman soldiers smoking spliff. "Do ya care if it falls?" "Nah - f**k it" as tg says, high anxiety has some funny moments too, the birds, the phone booth, and a few other scenes.
