I had just moved to L.A. in February of 1984 and saw Jerry Goldsmith at the Music Center Dorothy Chandler Pavilion conducting a 20 minute suite from UNDER FIRE Live with Guest Soloist on Guitar, Tommy Tedesco. Of course I took a small cassette tape recorder hidden in my pocket to preserve the event for posterity and you all! Enjoy! Such a great concert with Goldsmith also conducting his TWILIGHT ZONE THE MOVIE Overture before UNDER FIRE. Also on the bill were Dave Grusin playing and conducting ON GOLDEN POND, William Kraft conducting his FIRE AND ICE and Nathan and Tom Scott. James Horner was scheduled to have been there to conduct BRAINSTORM but canceled, it seemed at the last moment for some unexplained reason. Sydney Pollack was the Master of Ceremonies and it was a thrilling experience. Add to that, after the concert I went to the Artist Entrance to try and meet Jerry Goldsmith, but he never came out. I did however meet Nathan and Tom Scott and Tommy Tedesco and would you believe John Williams, the latter two who were so gracious and kindly signed my program. Tedesco was wearing his signature cap and John Williams was such a pleasant man who said he was there to see and congratulate Jerry Goldsmith on a fine performance. WHY DIDN'T I HAVE MY CAMERA? Anyway, please enjoy this piece of Rare Film Music History! Sound is what it is but sounds much better if you wear earphones. UNDER FIRE Suite Part 1 (other parts are on youtube as well, just look under: lavaman2000) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sv8QgS8Lz0 Here is Sydney Pollack's introduction of Goldsmith and the Maestro conducting TWILIGHT ZONE THE MOVIE Overture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw2grAxdye4 Here's Sydney Pollack's intro to the whole concert. He says a lot of cool stuff! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O4F2c2PSgs I'm sure I probably posted this many years ago, but whatever. Enjoy!

Must have been a connection with all of them being there. Perhaps Tedesco may have also performed on the BLADE RUNNER Album? Tommy Tedesco is indeed credited as playing on most of the tracks on the New American Orchestra version of Blade Runner.
