when he's talking to the British press people at this SPIDERMAN Premiere? Like something James Dean and Andy Kaufman would do to have fun with the people kind of thing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CSaJGSqdxw

If he was at a premiere in Italy would he be "A talking a like a thisa"?

He's being so smug.

Patrick Dennis: Is the English Lady sick, Auntie Mame?
Mame Dennis: She's not English , darling, she's from Pittsburgh.
Patrick: She sounded English.
Mame: Well, when you're from Pittsburgh, you have to do something.

I dont recall anyone complaining when Ron Randell dropped his charming Aussie accent in favor of an American gangster/Bogie accent. You never heard Laurence Harvey stooping that low.

James in Italy.

Okay, no English Accent and no a Italian a accenta. Well his "becausa" was a little questionable.

He just likes to joke with the Brits I guess.

Why is James Franco affecting an English Accent...

...instead of a French accent? Shouldnt he be a Franco-phile?

I heard that Madonna slid into a Mid-Atlantic phase for a while, after she married Guy Ritchie.

Maybe Franco recently got an "injection" of some kind?

His schedule is booked for 2018 already, maybe that accent is for an English film nothing unusual in that $, actors have various characters on screen more than you'd expect.

Dick Van Dyck, who's, Jack of all trades, cockney, how can one forget, Mary Poppins. wink

Elmer Bernstein affected a Mid-Atlantic accent, but no-one much noticed or commented. But that's because they loved him. A chameleon uses his instrument.

Linda McCartney, an American, developed a slight one (at times) from living with Paul in England for all those years. I guess it happens. I have no explanation for James Franco's, though...

No he is a New Englander like Lenny.

I just found it funny to see him do it with the British interviewer. I, being an actor myself, have gone through the drive-thru at McDonald's and ordered using an english accent before. Just in a silly mood I guess and perhaps I was being a tad smug myself. In the end I think he was just having a little fun and was not doing anything harmful.

Yes, Horner and Elmer could turn it up and bring it down on occasion, but hell we still loved them anyway.

Jolly Ho and Cheers Mates!

New Englanders don't have English accents. Lenny didn't. So is there a running joke about this or something?

Elmer spent his summers in England in later years. He painted there, but I never can find any images online.
