I'm staying in a motel tonight, and I didn't bring my boombox to listen to music while I sleep. I thought there was a way to allow my laptop CD player to continue playing music, but the last time I tried it, as soon as the laptop went into "sleep" mode, the player also stopped.
Is there anyway to override that so the screen saver will kick in but the player will still play?
thanks!

Oh.... it's a Toshiba "Satellite" laptop!

Well if you still need help, assuming you are on a Windows laptop you can go into power settings and change the ways it goes to sleep depending on what mode you are in. Usually I run my laptop at balanced or high performance. You can set either of those to not go to sleep when your laptop is also plugged in. I don't recommend disabling sleep if you don't have it plugged in as it goes to sleep to save battery. So if you have your power plug with you then you can keep it plugged in and play constantly to your heart's content.

Another cool option if you have one with you is to play the audio through the TV using the HDMI connection. Most laptops now have HDMI output that you can connect to the TV and it will play audio and show your laptop screen on the TV. Usually this is done for showing video content but you can also use it to play audio as well. The speakers on the TV may be better than what your laptop has.
