I wish I could love this score, but its poor usage and mix within the final film itself just put me off it.
When are Marvel going to realise, if you can’t hear a score in the film and it’s not used how a score should be used? Then it’s just not going to resenate with you the way it should. This is even true of scores like the brilliant E.T. (off the top of my head), imagine say that was barely heard in Spielberg’s film? I doubt anyone, especially film fans and the general public would have been as captivated by it as they were.
Marvel have seriously got to start taking these scores as seriously as the sound effects and give them room to really breathe and shine.
Gee whiz their just handing these things out for free now? I guess there really isn't any money in scores anymore.
If somebody was going to steal the scores on the Internet, there are tons of places where they've already been able to do so.
I'd bet there's a substantial savings for film companies to not print/press/burn/mail FYC discs (which they also handed out for free) in significant numbers, and just to direct voters to a website - enough to amortize potential loss to consumer downloaders -.
I have buy this soundtrack today, above some of best sounds , amazing score.. is classical.. has some of John Barry then goes through John Carpenter and Alan Howarth Escape From New York,Prince of Darkness winking also to Harlod Faltermayer Running Man and Queen's Flash Gordon... what a beautiful mess for a survivor of 80s like me....
