With Disney buying Fox, will they still allow Fox soundtrack material to be released in limited editions. Will they still Allow smaller labels to release Fox Blu Rays( Twilight time, Kino Lorber and others). Or will Disney pull the plug on all of this? I'd hope that there is an accepted grace period so that anything in the que of production (X-Men with LLL etc) would go through as intended.

First of all, this merger still needs to be approved by the US Justice Department. Secondly, a new owner has to honor existing signed contracts made by a previous owner. Third, and perhaps most importantly, there is no answer, because of all the moving parts in this $52 billion deal, which involves television networks, intellectual property, sports rights, streaming services, etc., certainly nobody has bothered to make decisions about their archival score soundtracks, which bring in a few thousand dollars a year. Bob Iger will not be calling this shot (though there certainly could be a general freeze on this sort of thing until everything shakes out).

First of all, this merger still needs to be approved by the US Justice Department. Your joking right? Secondly, a new owner has to honor existing signed contracts made by a previous owner. Disney purchased Lucas Film, Marvel, Pixar, Muppets, (gawd knows what else) but haven't they kept each entity more or less "intact"? So I imagine Fox music would still be released on the Fox label. And I don't think by default it becomes Intrada's soul territory.

And yes, in any major merger that can affect an industry the justice department always looks at a deal to make sure it's not creating unfair competition. Having said that and with the shifting of the studios financing to what are called film funds and other investment companies, doubt this is viewed as anti-trust in any way shape or form.

Theres lot of reasons FOX will stay intact as it's own entity. Number one is public image. The remaining mega companies don't want to remind the population they own these huge monopolies. Did you know most eye glass companies are owned by one foreign entity? That's why prices are so astronomically high. Furthermore the Justice Department isn't going to consider a damn thing. Big corp runs the country, the government does their bidding. It will be rubber stamped.
