I feel that I need to start a post on this fabulous score in hopes that others may soon buy their own copy. Being a Johan Soderqvist fan-addict led me to Mr. Helmersson via the The Department Q Trilogy scores: The Absent One and Keeper of Lost Causes-two fantastic scores to this EPIC series. So, when I found that my friend Godwin Borg was releasing a stand alone Uno Helmersson score I was ecstatic. This score is MORE than I could have hoped for in every sense. It is so beautiful, emotional, luscious, lonely and full of delight. I sure hope others pick it up. Listen to the clips here http://kronosrecords.com/K83.html . Support KRONOS Records! It's a great score. One of the best scores for a Norwegian film in 2017, in a style I like to call "post-minimal romanticism" (think Korzeniowski, Marianelli etc.). Unfortunately, the film has severe issues. But you don't have to watch it; just buy the album instead. Helmersson also did a similarly-styled score for the documentary MAGNUS earlier this year (about Norwegian chess wiz Magnus Carlsen).
A wonderful score. It should get more attention. I will have to check out his other work. Kon Tiki is also a excellent score by Johan Soderqvist. I'm sure I bought that on Thor's recommendation.
