Had literally never seen a foot of this movie or heard a note of the score.

Samples with new synthesizer performances by Leigh Phillips sound stunning.

Think I'll be boarding this Landmaster.

Can hear echoes of Planet of the Apes and Rio Conchos in this one.

Wow.

Still can't believe this one is finally happening. This must be one of the first, full blown "hybrid" restorations of a film score on CD.

I've never heard a note of this score. Really looking forward to it. Love that cover art, too. Great show, Intrada.

Incredible - never thought the day would arrive! December 5th should be renamed Damnation Alley day! Thank you so much to Intrada - Doug Fake and Roger Fielgelson, Mike Matessino, Julie Kirgo and Nick Redman. And finally the incredible Leigh Phillips for putting the missing piece in the puzzle.

The movie is a guilty(*1) pleasure of mine since childhood days... but, but, but... THIS may be perhaps my last true final unreleased grail that has now come to fruition. WOW, never thought this would happen. Just ordered.

(*1) - Ok, I don't feel guilty... what kind of a 13 year old wouldn't love a story of nuclear holocaust, giant scorpions, dangerous killer cockroaches, and the LANDMASTER! :-)

I already said it on the other treat, but I'll chime in again, because I'm so happy that my top of the top of holy grails has been finally released, I can't believe it, I'll just freak out!!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU so very much INTRADA!! You've showed once again a labor of such love and dedication. You are the SUPREME RULER of our SOUNDTRACK GALAXY!!

Hmm... Sounds really fantastic and will be in my order-list sooner or later.

But with this release I finally would like to ask a question (which was in my head for years) to FSM experts.

We all know that John Barry's widow don't allow to use his personal archives, so the only way to see (hear) some lesser-known Barry titles from late 70s-80s is if studios have masters (in most cases - they don't).

But what's about Jerry? Did he saved something for his personal archive? Does anyone tried to work with this archive? I ask this 'cause as I remember, all Goldsmith's scores comes only from studios archives, not from composer estate (or maybe I forgot something?)

Thanks.

After more than 20 years I finally have "Refueling stop" without the film noise.
Finally after so wanting and believing it could never be done we all can enjoy the soundtrack of "The landmaster that came to dominate Logan's world of the apes".

Needless to say that Intrada can add my order to its sales statistics.

Anyone notice that many of Intrada's track names are very different from those Varese had in their Fox Box? I wonder what the story is behind that.

Varese probably gave the tracks their own names, if they didn't have Goldsmith's written score to go by. Doug HAD the scores, and Goldsmith probably titled them... my guess is that Doug used the titles that Goldsmith gave the tracks.

I think Jim's right in his subsequent reply.

The Varese track titles don't follow Goldsmith's pattern. But check out the track titles for the new Intrada -

There's the Goldsmithian "The ______".

One example of the VERY Goldsmithian "Don't _________".

And no less than FOUR tracks titled in the EXTREMELY Goldsmithian manner "A ___________". There's even one which is called "A New _________", which fits in nicely with about half of his own track titles in his entire output.

Ha! I've just realised that there are no "No____" track titles on the Intrada, which, given the odds, is a bit surprising!

Hey, and no "First ______"!
