Looks like this will have an isolated score of Raksin's masterpiece. Wondering if it will be remastered, and if a re-release of the soundtrack on cd will happen?

Really looking forward to this. The 1998 CD contains 65 minutes of the 110 minute score. Varese controls this title, and I'd be surprised if they ever revisit it.

I'd love if Varese did a two disc Deluxe Edition of this Raksin masterwork, but I guess it's probably unlikely because the original album was one of their poorest-selling. At least the Blu-ray isolated score track will presumably have the complete score, if it has survived the ages. That's a lot better than nothing!

wonder is the blu ray ISO will have the score in stereo.
Which ending will we get?

It's pushmi-pullyu stereo (as I am now calling it!) newly done for this track. The ending had to be edited to match the film, which, of course, eliminates a lot of material that was originally recorded. There was one missing major cue, the one following the main title.

Huh...just like Captain from Castile. (That great missing prologue cue wasn't found in the years since the DVD release for inclusion on the Blu-ray, was it?)

Great that it sounds like this will be hugely expanded over the Varese disc, but now back to hoping that they consider doing an expanded Deluxe Edition on CD to include the music that was edited out of the film. At least the transfer's already been paid for!

In cases where cues are either micro-edited or substantially edited as with Forever Amber, I wonder if it wouldn't be allowed to just run black screen after the end credits of the film are done and play them in their entirety on the isolated score track?
