The DRACULA (John Williams) CD on Varese is not only NOT that bad sounding, it's Matessino-like quality when compared to something like MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON (Michael Small). I would go as far as to say THE COWBOYS (John Williams), with it's pinched sound and wrong channels (which aren't just limited to the Main Titles on the early pressings) is far far worse.
The performance by the (probably non-union, limited practice time) orchestra on Horner's BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS is actually quite amazing, considering the circumstances and NOT the car-crash sound many would have us believe.

Are you asking for titles that sound better on CD than their reputation suggests, or actual FSM myths like 'Moonraker is lost'? (which it isn't).
An addendum to the DRACULA sound issue, while I'm not saying it's a super-great sounding CD, if played on an old CD boombox/ghetto-blaster (as opposed to your more critical hearing sound-system), it sounds even better.
A few recent score/FSM myths are that “Dracula”doesn’t sound that bad, that “The Cowboys” has poor sound, and that the performance on “Battle Beyond the Stars” is amazing.
Mental health facilities are NOT packed full of shellshocked, handrwringing FSMers who have been mentally destroyed by the stress of waiting for a BSX order to arrive, a dented CD booklet or a cracked jewel case.

I said Star Wars, not Return of the Jedi, which is okay (IMO) on the Arista box disc. What is a myth is when anyone states their opinion as absolute fact, which fans of the Arista box tend to do when it comes that being the "ultimate listening experience" for Star Wars classic trilogy scores....
