I've sampled these rerecordings today and found them pretty thrilling. If they're anywhere near as well done as they did Fahrenheit 451 (yes, I realize the latter is a finer composition than the other two), I'm buying! 
So, I would love opinions! I love Bernard's music, one of my favorites, but never really knew much about those pieces. I have and love Stromberg's Mysterious Island as well.

I can definitely recommend both CDs. The Kentuckian also has Williamsburg: The Story of a Patriot, both of which feature that Herrmann Americana sound I like so much.
That sound is also featured on The CBS Years Volume 2: American Gothic, particularly with his Walt Whitman suite, but the sound on those discs turn some people off.

I know I'm chiming in late but both of these are awesome. In fact, every Tribute Film Classics release (there are only eight!) is a must-have, but the Herrmanns most of all because Bill Stromberg is the single greatest Herrmann conductor of all time. Kentuckian is great and Neretva very good -- I actually like the bonus suite from Naked and the Dead on the disc even more. As a Herrmann fan you will not regret your purchase.
I only hope Tribute will return to recording one day, perhaps with the otherwise-lost Herrmann score to Endless Night.
