I finally opened ANNA AND THE KING OF SIAM. I really like it. Also, I noticed that a) enough time had passed that I only have superficial recollections of the film, AND, b) enough "Herrmann-isms" are present in the score, THEREFORE, c) I got the feeling that Siam is a place many miles underground, peopled by tall, aluminum robots.

Wow, did nobody but 2 people besides me like this score?? A Herrmann score, one of his Oscar nominations. Is it because it has no blood, beasts or fisticuffs?

Wow, did nobody but 2 people besides me like this score?? A Herrmann score, one of his Oscar nominations. Is it because it has no blood, beasts or fisticuffs? Good taste yours, fellow! Wonderful movie, which passes in a snap of fingers (so exciting it is!), does not look like it has 130 minutes! Two great pillars of Hollywood: Irene Dunne and Rex Harrison (et cetera, et cetera, et cetera!)! And the Hermann's soundtrack ... well, in my opinion, is one of his most original, versatile, exotic and perfect work in my opinion, one of his 5 best works! I do not get tired of hearing this score!
