STAR WARS---Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy announced Rian Johnson (THE LAST JEDI) will develop a new STAR WARS movie trilogy, “We all loved working with Rian on ‘The Last Jedi. He’s a creative force, and watching him craft ‘The Last Jedi’ from start to finish was one of the great joys of my career. Rian will do amazing things with the blank canvas of this new trilogy.”
The new trilogy is “separate from the episodic Skywalker saga” and “will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never before explored“. It will premiere after 2020.
Also, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger announced a new STAR WARS live-action tv series will premiere on Disney's upcoming subscription streaming service, along with a MONSTERS, INC. tv series and a new Marvel tv series. Iger said about the price, “plan on the Disney side is to price [our streaming service] substantially below where Netflix is.” The new streaming service will debut in 2019.

DEADPOOL 2---Ryan Reynolds released the poster from a special issue of GOOD HOUSEKEEPING that features the sequel.

JAMES BOND---director Denis Villeneuve (ARRIVAL, BLADE RUNNER 2049) said he won't be able to direct the 25th Bond movie because he is concentrating on the remake of DUNE,
"Daniel Craig is a very inspiring actor and I had some contact and the thing is that I’m busy right now doing DUNE. But, I will say to have the privilege to work with him it would be a dream. I would love to work with Daniel and a Bond movie for me would be a treat. It’s a matter of timing, I guess.”

SEX SCANDALS---MAD MEN creator Matthew Weiner was accused of sexual harassment by former co-writer Kater Gordon, "He told me that I owed it to him to let him see me naked." After co-winning an Emmy, Weiner fired Gordon, "He told me I was terrible at everything. From my work in the writers room to on set." Weiner denied the allegation.
Dutch model/actress Faviola Dadis accused Steven Seagal of sexually assaulting her during a "romantic scene" audition for a movie in 2002, “I expressed that I was uncomfortable with that especially since I was in my bikini. And then he started pinching my nipples and grabbing my crotch area with his other hand. I quickly yelled ‘This audition is over!'”
Louis C.K.'s movie, I LOVE YOU, DADDY, will not be released after a NEW YORK TIMES story in which five women claim he masturbated in front of them without their consent. HBO has ended its ties with him, and FX is reviewing it dealings with the comedian/producer.

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY---Chapter 2 will premiere on January 7.

GAME OF THRONES---Jason Momoa posted that he spent time with his fellow cast members in Belfast where filming is underway which led to fan speculation he is returning for a cameo.

THE COMEBACK---Sony Pictures movie underway based on the time travel comic book. Nacho Vigalondo (COLOSSAL) is the writer/director. Robert Kirkman is the producer.

LET HER SPEAK---Sandra Bullock stars in this movie about Texas legislator Wendy Davis whose 11-hour filibuster ended a state anti-abortion bill in the state legislature.

Is Bullock doing a Miss Sloane? What with The Post 'n all, looks like it's Washingmachine DC's turn all over again?

Yeah, another western. Of course, every time a new western is released, I hope for another rousing score like Bernstein, Tiomkin, and Goldsmith used to compose. Doubt that Max Richter will compose such a score because they aren't popular now. Still, Richter has composed some good scores. (Crossing my fingers.)

Walking Dead/Game Of Thrones/Homeland quality? Yes! Not? No. You always hold your breath when you hear a film title being produced in television realm... usually that's because they cannot afford to do the superior/higher standard film project. Prove us wrong if you follow through with that.

Glad to hear Rian Johnson is onboard for more films, and that they will engage in new tales.

Sure they won't have the same budget but these shows no longer have 26-30 episode seasons. More like 8-13 episodes per season. They are expensive for sure but manageable. And they do have movie quality effects. Also the FX for films and television are farmed out to third world countries where production cost is much less.
