Has a score release been announced? I've looked around and can't find any info on it. Imagine... TWO Williams scores coming out at the same time! When was the last time THAT happened?

The album will be announced closer to the film's release in late Dec, no doubt. I think you have to go back to Heartbeeps in 1981 to find a Williams-scored film that didn't have an album released concurrently with the film itself.

That might be technically three Williams scores, 'cause over at jwfan.com (who still haven't answered if they are douchebags yet in their own thread about it), I saw the following information:
According to The Awards Circuit (a pretty reliable site), the test screening for this film was a "disaster" and their scrambling to turn it into something decent. That's why we haven't had a trailer yet frown

Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/circuit-breaker/id1120795055?mt=2

10/25 episode of the podcast, 46 minute mark

And:
Taken from the Munich IMDB page: The film crews called the shooting of the movie as a "race against the clock". In order to have the film ready by Christmas for Academy Awards consideration, Steven Spielberg and Editor Michael Kahn devised an editing schedule in which: 1) All of the scenes in Malta and Hungary shot in twelve weeks were edited on the spot. Each day, Spielberg would review an edited scene shot two days earlier. 2) Two copies of the edited scene were sent out, one to John Williams for music and the other to Ben Burtt for sound effects. 3) The Paris and New York City scenes were edited two weeks after photography, and the final cut was readied after another two weeks.

So, my speculation is they'll need new score as editing might not cover it, which might mean some pick up sessions. Or additional composers filling in some new gaps or re-working existing cues. Hell, considering the rushed schedule, he may have had to have some help this time -- he's not the Spring chicken he once was.

Still time to replace him with Junkie XL. ;-)

Looks like a sweet theatrical season with a new Patrick Doyle/Kenneth Branagh collaboration on "Murder on the Orient Express", Marc Shaiman's lovely "LBJ" for director Rob Reiner, the two John Williams scores and more.

Indiewire says the score is done, with the final sound mix happening this coming Monday.

Of course, everything is unverified until the film comes out.
