I have the UK version of Ole Turkey Buzzard from a Bear Family compilation.
Greg Espinoza
Which compilation is that? There are more than one Bear Family CDs with Old Turkey Buzzard (to name a couple for example, the Feliciano album "No Jive" which is a "Very Best of" compilation, and a western set "From Alamo to El Dorado"). I've no idea which Buzzard versions they contain though. Is your UK recording from one of those, or from something else?

Further to this debate I note that there was a UK single in the name of Quincy Jones of "Theme From 'Mackenna's Gold' (Ole Turkey Buzzard) (Instrumental) b/w "Soul Full Of Gold". http://www.45cat.com/record/rca1850 The A side timing shows 3:30 which doesn't match the LP version unless it is a typo. If correct, maybe a different version or edit. If anyone out there has the single, it would be interesting to know. The B side timing is the same as the LP and the Intrada CD.
The US album version on the Intrada CD is in my opinion far inferior to the version on the UK LP. Awful pop style arrangement. Why were there different versions used?

And so the guessing game begins. You can ask . . . a simple question?
I think the Tsunami version has the original because when I listened to Intrada...i thought' that does not sound right'. Or i am now more used to listening to the Tsunami all those years.
