The 8 cd box-set of Dark Shadows is a must have if your a fan, some cues are quite short around 30 seconds, nevertheless its a great box-set full of fabulous music, & it has in-depth interview with Bob.

Indeed!
There is a four part interview with the composer (one part in each disc package) that provides a fascinating glimpse into the complications of scoring for American network TV at the time.

Yes, that's a nice bonus to the box-set.

It pretty much covers the musics entire series, you can buy off Ebay UK for 38 quid a steal.

Not a Dark Shadows fan, but I'd go for an 8 disc set of complete tv horror movie scores - Night Stalker & Strangler, Norliss Tapes, Scream of the Wolf, Trilogy of Terror, Curse of Black Widow, etc. The sampler disc is okay, but doesnt cut it.

Ditto, eventually Cobert may get the red carpet treatment, or individual releases will do.

It is unlistenable.

The three Media Sound Records CD's are terrific albums with many of the signature cues.

"Volume 3" includes pieces from the first LP that had narration without the narration.

noone did, it was already mentioned, but maybe the labels have forgot. The horror sampler cd with this suite is not enough. Does Varese have an exclusive contract with Cobert?

Yes. A great release not to long ago, & very reasonably priced, now OOP, It was an essential buy, more Cobert releases needed in 2018.

This 1996 Varese Sarabande CD has some cues re-arranged for airing on radio and more.

A delightful keepsake for anyone who can't get enough of "Dark Shadows" or the music of Robert Cobert.

I poured my heart into a thread for Cobert's score to Scream of the Wolf and so should you (but you won't):

One of so many TV movie scores by Robert Cobert that do not have a CD album release.
