The crazy, avantgarde comedy remaining in the spirit of the New Wave is today a cult film. The amorous adventures of the particular characters are accompanied by the expressive, highly varied music of Krzysztof Komeda. Though the leading motif of the film is the lyrical, subtle piano melody accompanied by a strings section, most themes here draw heavily from concepts combining jazz and Latino music – cascading percussion instruments, swinging flutes and groovy vocals create an atmosphere that is not found in any other of Komeda’s film music. “People Meet and Sweet Music Fills the Heart” is now appearing on CD in its entirety for the first time. The material has been remastered from the original tapes and contains also alternative takes not used in the film. The booklet includes a short essay on the subject of the music and photos. The cover is based on a rare, Italian cinema poster of the film.

How much difference will this GAD album have from the Människor Möts Och Ljuv Musik Uppstår I Hjärtat cues previously issued on those Polonia/Power Bros volumes (volume 14, I think)?
I believe this will also be the first soundtrack album from a single film directed by Henning Carlsen.
Love the Carlsen/Komeda collaboration on the 1966 Hunger (also with Swedish actors in the lead).

I bought this CD from Dusty Groove 2 months ago in October.
This GAD edition is a significant improvement over the M&E&dialogue tracks heard on that Polonia/Power Bros. version.
Also, this score's recording sessions were done, if I recall the notes correctly, in Denmark. I highlight this aspect because I honestly don't know if there has been any other soundtrack album released from master tapes originally recorded in Denmark. If not, then this People Meet disc may very well be a soundtrack 'first' in this regard.
