Great interview, thanks for sharing. I hope he does manage a concert piece a year as he hopes and that they all get a release!

No problem.

His Violin Concerto is being recorded in June, so hopefully that'll get released relatively soon.

How do we know his concerto is being recorded?

I’m glad I listened to this just to confirm that Elfman, like me, initially thought that a piano quartet meant 4 pianos. Whereas Elfman was relieved to learn this was not the case, I was extremely disappointed. #dannyowesus4pianos

I've heard him mention it in interviews. I believe it's recording in Scotland.

Why do they keep calling it a world premiere when there was a review of the piece being done in DC last week?

And why do they say “yet to be titled piece.” It’s a piano quartet. Why would it need a title?

No reason it couldn't have a title though. Plenty of chamber works do.
