I don't think there are (m)any fans of Clouser's Saw scores on this discussion forum, but maybe there are. I always have been, and am extremely excited about his return to the franchise with his score for Saw VIII, a.k.a. Jigsaw.
Last month, Clouser posted the following on Facebook regarding the Jigsaw score release, as well as possible releases of previous Saw scores (fingers crossed):
"I'm working on a multi-disc "Saw Score Anthology" release for Lakeshore. It will probably be 2x CD / 4x LP, with about 20 minutes (one LP side) per movie. Hope to get it out around the time that the movie hits theaters. Just trying to trim over twelve hours of score down to two hours is killing me! There will be a digital-only release of 70 minutes of the score from Jigsaw (aka SAW VIII) hitting the web before the movie comes out, and I'll try to convince the powers that be to just do a "full dump" of all eight complete scores via digital-only."
Hey DR! You know I'm a Clouser and certainly Saw fan! I'm excited about Jigsaw as well. And a Saw Score Anthology? That would be fantastic!!! Here's hoping it happens!

I love the Saw Scores. Own them all and look forward to hearing the new material.
HUGE fan of the series and music. Will throw my money at any package they put together. None of the scores every really got a proper release (aside from a promo disc or incomplete digital here or there). STOKED!
Wouldn't be SAW without Charlie. Hope the release happens but looking forward to the new one. Often play the older ones. Think he really hit his stride with SAW III. 'Pig Juicer' anyone? :-)
Deputy thanks for sharing. Loved Hello Zepp's cue breakdown from JIGSAW. Interesting peak behind the making of it... and also interesting how far reaching Zimmer's influence really is on the industry.

Absolutely! It was very cool. Although I just got finished watching it myself, and I realized there was a potential spoiler reveal between 12:30-12:50 as the names of the different tracks within the cue were revealed. I went back to the post above and posted a warning!
I have the double CD release of the soundtrack to part 2 featuring songs and the score. So when I met Tobin Bell at a convention here in Sweden he signed the soundtrack for me.
On that soundtrack the highlight is the Needle Pit track, I really like that one.
Then on a sidenote I can tell you that I have once upon a time actually worked as a film critic. One of the last films I reviewed for the local paper was the very first Saw film. And I admit that that`s the only time ever I regretted that I gave a movie just (only) 3 stars, it deserves 4.
I am looking forward to both Jigsaw and the Saw music compilation.
Update from Clouser today on Facebook (in a conversation that I was having with him, incidentally):
"There will indeed be a SAW series compilation coming in a month or two from Lakeshore Records. I just finished editing it last night and it will be going to mastering tomorrow. Over two hours of my favorite bits from all eight movies, released on 2x CD / 4x vinyl LP - one vinyl side per movie. Should be cool."

Hey losher! Sorry I didn't reply before! Yes, I remember you being one of the Clouser Cult! I'm so stoked for Jigsaw, both film and score. Glad to see your post in this thread. We'll definitely have to join up here again when the score is released to dance a jig(saw) celebrating the joyous wonders of Chuck C's bright sunny happy tunes! Hopefully by then the Saw Score Anthology will have been announced or even released!
From what I gather, the anthology is basically a done deal, in the mastering stages. I'd imagine we'll be seeing it pop up any day now. As an anthology, culling from 8 films, I imagine it has to go through a lot more red tape bullshit, but I'd also imagine they want to capitalize on Jigsaw's Halloween release date (film & score) and put the anthology out around the same time. I'll be sure to post info up here if I see it!
I’m in for this. Actually somebody posted an April Fools joke a few years back about a box set. I was genuinely excited for a split second until I realized the date.

I remember that.
I think John Kramer remembered it too. If I'm not mistaken whoever perpetrated that joke soon thereafter heard the words "live or die...make your choice" and found themselves in quite the pickle indeed.
And now we actually will be getting -- well, not a boxset, but a 2-disc anthology. Ain't no April Fool's joke this time.
I'm quite the fan of the Saw scores as well. Not sure I would go out to see the new film but I am interested in official release of the material especially if it is done in a way to give us the best listening experience. Clouser has shown an ability to get music to work without being orchestral yet while giving us a memorable experience.
