So I had a good laugh on the weekend when I picked up this CD from a thrift store dollar bin. The laughs came once I popped it into the car CD player - it was a cringe worthy synth, and vocal production by of 20 Superhero Themes by The Allen Toussaint Orchestra. It also took me back to a time when I had bought a few compilation CDs and had some serious WTF is this reactions. Just wanted to know if anyone here had any encounters with this CD, or the other one below?

What's the worst Bargain Bin or compilation CD you've encountered?

-this one I remember for the disco tunes, which we often used for joke home videos as background music.

And I thought this was the worst cover for a JW CD. Wow, that takes the cake smile

Oh yes, I remember well all those dreadful, cheapo 'compilation albums' from the 90s, in particular. I went into that same trap myself on more than one occasion -- also for non-film music stuff. I'm a big synth fan, but some of these renditions were absolutely dreadful. I wonder what went into the mind of those who produced these albums.

Deciding to give a 1 Euro copy of The Legend of Bagger Vance a pass in a FNAC store in France and not picking up a 5 Euro sealed Empire Strikes Back (RCA version with the CDs in the booklet) in a Virgin Music store. The failure to pick up the former still rankles, particularly when I sought it out later and realised how much it would cost to acquire it.

Way back in the the day there was a big deal made about this CD before it came out:

Don't be fooled by the credits -- it's all synth. And even sounds worse than the originals (which was all synth except for Liberi Fatali, of course)

Now anyone who knows anything about FF games might find that track list very weird. That's because it had the bizzare idea of using the first track of each disc from the original OST releases.
