I have a CD of "Puppet on a Chain" on a label called DC. I have never heard of this label. I picked it up sometime in the late 1990s or very early 2000s.
There is another version, with different cover art, on Silva Screen. It has the same number of tracks.
The DC release sounds like it was taken from a mono stem. Listenable, but nothing great. Has anyone heard the Silva Screen version, and does it sound any better? Has anyone compared the two?
I recently bought the new Silva CD and I would echo what you said about the earlier one (which, sorry, I haven't heard). Mono Stem sounding,OK but not great. I would say this didn't get too much new work, remastering etc. That said, highly recommended for the cool score to those who don't have it!

Thanks. Better than nothing, of course, but I wish they would one day find the master tapes for this one.
Hey everyone! I came across the Silva release of this score and even though the music is wonderful, how does the album sound? I am checking on Spotify and the recording is a bit muted and damaged, requiring a remaster.
Would you recommend me to get it or to wait if there is any new reissue? Thanks!
I would think with this being one of Piccioni’s more worldwide scores, that one of the European labels would have taken the opportunity to dress it up considering the shaky quality of the two previous cds- maybe you should get this while you can. That said, maybe someone could check with the Piccioni clan at the Camille 3000 label to see if they inherited these tapes as well?
