I know there has to be more here that grew up with Famous Monsters of Filmland.
Reporting for duty sir. They were imported to England & I used to buy them, this would be around '61/62 (I was around 11/12), my mother would take them off me saying they'd warp my mind (fair point, they probably did). I loved those early covers, esp. the Gogos ones, & I still do, I have several framed copies of early editions of Famous Monsters & Spacemen on my walls (no wonder I don't get many visitors these days). I think he was brilliant & I loved his work.
Here you go, only four people, so it's good to have a couple more interested. Some artists can die without a ripple, while other famous & maybe less talented artists have millions of words written when they pop off (I'm thinking of our UK Brit Art crowd). It's the same with writers & composers, all the people I like no one else seems to have heard of, but who wants to follow the crowd.
