with your children's names. I've met 2 children with names that make them sound like male strippers.

Thank you.

The disgraceful saddling of poor kids in council estates and chav towns with "exotic" names like Rio, chantelle, chardonnay, Romeo, Brooklyn, jade, etc was done up like a kipper when harry enfields Wayne and Waynetta Slob called their kid Spudulike!!! (pronounced Spudulika!) smile

As clever as Hugh G. Rection.

with your children's first names.

Your last name came from a language with its own beautiful rhythms and sounds. Saddling Junior with a first name to make him/her "more American" or "less ethnic" just sounds misguided.

Concepcion Lichtenstein? Eremenegildo MacGillicuddy? Spare us, please.

with your children's names.

Yes, again, please.

A science fiction name belongs in a science fiction film, for a science fiction character. Not pasted on your child.

Yes, people, I met a child named after this character.

Jaxxon is also a popular name.

I think I used to play Jaxxon in the 80s...

My wife's best friend named her boys Luke and Henry, for Luke Skywalk and Henry "Indiana" Jones Jr. A bit of fun and a much nicer way play with names than inventing names or repurposing vocabulary!

I read an article recently about there being around 500 children named ABCDE in the past year in the US. That's pronounced "Ab-Sid-EE" apparently, which is just ridiculous.
Call me old fashioned, but as a parent you have basic responsibilities to feed and clothe the child, keep it's tiny fingers away from the dog's mouth and to give them a name they can live with!

At least they weren't named after the family dog.
