STAR WARS---director John Landis commented on Lucasfilm firing STAR WARS directors who wandered too far off the franchise path, “I have many things that I’m working on, whether or not they’ll ever become real, I don’t know. You know Joe Dante and myself and a few other guys I know are in the same position. They’re not hiring people who have opinions. They think, ‘He knows what he’s doing, I’m not hiring him!’ Look at Star Wars. They keep firing guys. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, those guys are really talented. They’re really funny and original guys. They shot 75% of the movie and I gotta tell you, it doesn’t speak well for the new Lucasfilm. How many directors have they fired? Four. How many writers? Twelve.”
Landis added with the George Lucas comment about how he felt when he sold Lucasfilm to the Walt Disney Company, “It’s very worrying. Remember when George Lucas said that he felt like he sold his kids into white slavery? Well…”

Also, in a question-and-answer session with GQ, Harrison Ford did not appear to be enthusiastic about returning to Star Wars if the opportunity would appear in the future.

GQ: When it comes to ‘Star Wars’, given the nature of science fiction, are you absolutely, incontrovertibly—

Ford: Dead?

GQ: —finished with ‘Star Wars’?

Ford: Um, I mean, I’m finished with Star Wars if Star Wars is finished with me.

GQ: And if ‘Star Wars’ isn’t finished with you?

Ford: I can’t imagine it. But it is science fiction. I’d rather not. You know, at this point I’d rather do something else. Just because it’s more interesting to do something new.

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI---the recent revelation by Billie Lourd, daughter of Carrie fisher, that JJ Abrams asked her to audition for the Rey role led to speculation that Rey is really a Skywalker. After Daisy Ridley got the role, Lourd played Resistance Lieutenant Connix in THE FORCE AWAKENS and will return for THE LAST JEDI.
Also, THE LAST JEDI director Rian Johnson gave details on the cute creatures that are Luke Skywalker's companions on the planet of Ahch-To, "They are sea birds. Their coloring varies. Males are slightly larger than females. They can fly short distances. They're inquisitive."

GAME OF THRONES---HBO programming head Casey Bloys said multiple endings will be filmed for the series finale, “They’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

HELLBOY---photo released of David Harbour (STRANGER THINGS) as the new Hellboy.

TERMINATOR 6---Tim Miller (DEADPOOL) has signed to direct the movie with James Cameron as the producer.

GERALD'S GAME---Stephen King released the poster for the Netflix movie based on his novel.

NIGHTFLYERS---Syfy is close to ordering a tv series based on George RR Martin's novella about an advanced spaceship that intercepts an alien spacecraft that holds the key to mankind's survival. The 1987 movie based on the novella starred Catherine Mary Stewart.

WONDER WOMAN 2---Dave Callaham (THE EXPENDABLES) will co-write the sequel with Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns.

THE HAPPYTIME MURDERS---Elizabeth Banks will play burlesque dancer Jenny in the movie about a human detective and a puppet detective who team up to catch the murderer who is killing off the cast of a hit tv series.

HARLAN COBEN'S THE FIVE---Netflix series about friends who discover the brother of one of their group, who mysteriously disappeared, may be alive after his DNA is discovered at a murder scene.

TBS---renewed THE GUEST BOOK, PEOPLE OF EARTH and WRECKED.

ATYPICAL---Netflix renewed the series for Season 2.

GoT is only on Sky Atlantic in the UK, & I don't get it as I'm with Virgin, so staying away from ending spoilers before I buy the Blu-ray is going to take some doing.
