"Digitmovies is releasing for the absolute first time on CD, the complete version of the OST by Carlo Rustichelli for the film “Made in Italy” (aka “Estos italianos” – “À l'italienne”). Carlo Rustichelli is one of the titans of film music. For "Made in Italy,” he composed one of the best OSTs of his long and fabulous career. Originally RCA had released a promotional LP (SP 8015) containing eleven tracks in mono with a total time of only 22:14 minutes. For our CD (69:01 min) we were able to access the master assembled for the LP and the original mono master tapes from the recording session which allowed us to release the entire soundtrack, including previously unreleased material."

"Digitmovies is releasing the complete edition CD of the OST by Piero Piccioni for the comedy “Pardon, Are You For Or Against?” (original title: “Scusi, lei è favorevole o contrario?” aka “El gran amante”). This CD is the result of passionate and unceasing research, selection and restoration of a soundtrack which absolutely deserved to be rescued and preserved. All of this was possible thanks to the mono master tapes from the original recording session which have survived until today in good condition. Unfortunately, the take of the "Opening Titles" was very damaged and although we tried everything to save it, the sound is not the same quality as the rest of the CD. Originally the label Parade had released an EP single (45PRL 5022) with the songs “Per noi due soli” ("For the two of us") and "Shake and soda." It was not until 1998 that a wide selection of brand new material came out for the first time on CD in Japan, but our edition is the final one."

I am especially delighted by the CD release of Rustichelli´s MADE IN ITALY which formerly was one of the rarest LP albums in the RCA SP series and very hard to get. This is not a run-of-the-mill comedy score, but an absolutely charming, enchanting gem with that wonderful main theme named "Ballata del lavoro" heard in vocal as well as quite diverse instrumental versions throughout the score. There is a lot of variety in this score and also other catchy themes so typical of the composer.
I have been waiting for the CD release of this score for years. Finally! smile

Both are favorite Italian composers of mine. Looking very forward to these two. Thank you Digitmovies for more outstanding releases.

Just looking at the fabulous cover of the Rustichelli makes me feel good! He is one of my favourites, this will be a definite purchase for me, and possibly the Piccioni too!

Made in Italy is most welcome. I had downloaded a few tracks from GDM but I have never heard the rare LP. I'm glad Digitmovies was able to make a deal with GDM, hopefully more will come...

Made in Italy is most welcome. I had downloaded a few tracks from GDM but I have never heard the rare LP. I'm glad Digitmovies was able to make a deal with GDM, hopefully more will come...

Please keep in mind that Digitmovies during the last few years has never stopped issuing titles from the RCA vaults of which the owner is Universal Music Publishing. GDM can exploit this catalogue, but the actual copyright owner remains Universal Music Publishing. So it is nothing new at all that they release now a title from the RCA vaults like MADE IN ITALY.
When you write that you have downloaded tracks from GDM, I suppose that you mean these two digital compilations "Sexy 60s" and "Spy Themes" which GDM has assembled from all possible RCA tracks:
https://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Italian-Soundtracks-Original-Versions/dp/B01JTQO0ZQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&q
id=1505399131&sr=1-5-mp3-albums-bar-strip-0&keywords=spy+themes
https://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Italian-Soundtracks-Original-Versions/dp/B01JTQO0ZQ/ref=sr_1_5?s=dmusic&ie=UTF8&qid=1505399131&sr=1-5-mp3-albums-bar-strip-0&keywords=spy+themes

As I can see it, these two digital compilations contain the only two more jazzy pieces from the RCA LP album of MADE IN ITALY - namely "A luci basse" (= last track of side A of the LP) and "Il neolaureato" (last track of side B of the LP).
These two tracks are not really typical of the rest of the music and above all they do not contain the real main theme "Ballata del lavoro".
But you can listen to the complete(!) tracks of the tarantella version of "Ballata del lavoro" (track 3 on the Digit CD) and the guitar/accordion version of "Ballata del lavoro" (track 8 on the Digit CD) when you go to the Universal Music website where they list their complete production music catalogue. There you will find all the 27 BPM Score Music Series CDs and can listen to all the tracks on them.
So the tarantella version of "Ballata" is there called "Pulcinella" and is to be found as track 6 on BPM 3005 (album: Italian Comedy 50s/60s) whereas the other version of "Ballata" is called "New Beginning" as track 14 on BPM 3012 (album: Neorealism):
https://www.universalproductionmusic.com/en-se/discover/labels/5/BPM-Score-Music-Series

Enjoy!

All of the tracks on the BPM Score Music Series do always come from the RCA vaults. And there are also a lot of tracks which have not yet been released on CD. So you can find quite a lot of stuff there (of course always with fictitious track titles) if you are a bit experienced. smile

Stefan, I happen to like very much the BPM Music score library music collection you hinted at and didn’t know that 27 volumes have been published so far. I must have about 10 or 12 of them.

By the way, it’s slightly off-topic but I don’t want to open a thread for that question alone: I watched yesterday the French movie entitled 3 MILLIARS SANS ASCENSEUR on DVD and enjoyed very much the original score composed by Teo Usuelli and featuring the 4 + 4 by Nora Orlandi. I didn’t see who owns the rights for it. Is there any chance for this score to be released? According to this database, it seems nothing has been issued as of yet:

Thanks in advance.
Laurent

Laurent, I have looked on the database of the SACEM website and the Usuelli score 3 MILLIARDS SANS ASCENSEUR is owned by Sidomusic. So it would be something for Stéphane Lerouge - but it is certainly doubtful if any tapes have survived or if Lerouge has any interest to release it. There is no music publisher for this score in Italy.

Looks like there's a really a "dip" in Italian productions in 2017. Nothing from Beat or Quartet in September... I guess we'll have to live with fewer (but hopefully great!) future releases.

I received Made in Italy today from Digitmovies. Fantastic stuff! I had to enter the tracklist in iTunes (it was not yet done, I'm probably one of the first to receive this). Now I can listen to it on my iPod. My Luxman L5 amplifier is in repair and I can't listen to this on my stereo system. Not that the sound quality is that stellar but the tunes really make you happy. I also received my shipping notification of Shogun from SAE today. I sure hope my amp is repaired when that arrives!
