27. Mark Ruffalo, $13 million
28. Cate Blanchett, $12 million
29. Julia Roberts, $12 million
30. Amy Adams, $11.5 million

THE JOKER---Warner Bros./DC Comics movie underway about the origin of The Joker. A source said, "the intention is to make a gritty and grounded hard-boiled crime film set in early-’80s Gotham City that isn’t meant to feel like a DC movie as much as one of Scorsese’s films from that era, like Taxi Driver, Raging Bull or The King Of Comedy.”

HAN SOLO---the movie's title might be HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY after a leaked photo of a LEGO STAR WARS toy publication which shows "HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY and a "CONFIDENTIALl" watermark is over it.
Also, the character of Michael K. Williams (THE WIRE) was removed from the movie because he was unavailable for Ron Howard's reshoots due to a schedule conflict.

AVENGERS 4---Robert Downey, Jr. released a photo confirming Gwyneth Paltrow is returning as Pepper Potts for the untitled sequel which is filming in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

GODZILLA vs KONG---director Adam Wingard said the sequel is set in the present which is about 40 years after KONG: SKULL ISLAND, "...our film is in [the] present day. We have a couple characters from Godzilla 2 in ours, but it’ll be interesting to see how Kong has fared over the years. You see him in that film and he’s just constantly under attack. Things are going wrong and there’s probably been lots of human intervention since then. It’ll be interesting to see a more rugged, a bit more aged Kong in this film.”

GAME OF THRONES---the Season 7 finale, "The Dragon and the Wolf", will be the longest episode with a run time of 79 minutes and 43 seconds

BLACK SAMURAI---Common (JOHN WICK 2) will star in this Starz tv series about a black ex-Ranger who seeks revenge after his samurai mentor is murdered.

TREMORS---Vincenzo Natali (SPLICE) will direct Kevin Bacon in the Syfy pilot based on the 1990 movie that starred Bacon and Fred Ward.

VITA & VIRGINIA---Elizabeth Debicki (THE NIGHT MANAGER, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2) and Gemma Arterton (QUANTUM OF SOLACE) star in this movie about the lesbian relationship between writers Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf.

BAD BOYS FOR LIFE---Martin Lawrence doubts the sequel will be filmed, “I don’t think we’re going to get one, not the way everything’s turning out, Will [Smith] is off doing another movie, and I don’t it’s going to happen.”

VICTOR CROWLEY---the fourth in the HATCHET slasher movies will be released in October.

The top 4 of the list of highest paid actors is depressing reading. Adam Sandler in particular has shôwn zero talent as a writer/comedian for years. His films are awful product placement ads or possibly some sort of money laundering enterprises.

Should really be called highest-paid "celebrities". Most of the best acting is done by supporting actors.

"Justice League" and "Han Solo" are a real mess aren't they? Both will probably rack it up at the box office anyway.

Good point, Wanderer. Also note that out of the list of 30, you have to get to number 15 before you see a female actor. There is ONLY a 42 million dollar difference between Emma and Mark.

Of course, I realize that how many films one makes (as well as advertisements) makes a salary difference. Still, I'm glad to see some strong female actors demanding equal pay for equal roles, and I think this list shows why.

I was referring to the "productions" are a real mess with the firing/removal of the directors, massive re-shoots and eliminating characters altogether because of it. That's not an opinion, but an empirical fact. wink

Haha! Yeah I got nothing against the guy, but I find him as interesting as cardboard. Don't think I've seen many films of his, and none intentionally.

He's an all-American asshole, thinks he could've single-handedly saved the day on 9/11 if he'd been on one of those planes, and has found a niche in Peter Berg and Michael Bay stuff with a side niche in comedy.

I don't think I've ever seen an interview with him, or read a quote of his. That's how much I paid attention.

Fair enough. But you also wrote (although not highlighted by me), "Both will probably rack it up at the box office anyway", implying a judgment of the finished films. Considering your recent dismissal of all new Star Wars and Super Hero-related films, it was easy for me to jump to the conclusion that was what you were saying. My apologies.

No need to apologize. I'm clearly jaded about most things nowadays.
