Forget the capitalist hustling, just discuss the film and its music!

Only four tracks out of eleven are more or less faithful to the original recording.

1. Harper - Main Title
6. Mexican Breakfast
9. Temple of the Clouds
11. Finale (Susan)

While it's no means a replacement for the original tracks, I would at least hope that the re-records evoke the spirit of the film and that free-swingin' era.

*Does Isometrics* (see the film, get the reference!) wink

I'd love to have a CD release of this album & the original score & a Blu-ray of the movie. I wonder if any of this will ever happen?

Is it considered rude to reply to a post with just a link? I've always believed that it was.

(don't answer this by replying with just a link...or do, just so I get an answer). wink

Always admired that cue title - "Magnus Cum Louder".

I also dig the Andre Previn song "Livin' Alone" that is briefly featured. It makes me wonder if Previn might have been originally slated to score the whole picture. This is about the time he decided to exit Hollywood. He became music director of the Houston Symphony in 1967.

The Region-1 DVD is pretty visually impressive, so hopefully a Blu will be even more so.

Such a swingingly fun movie, with Paul Newman's effortless charm in evidence.
