According to my tivo planner, the radio broadcast was live on BBC radio 3, while the televised show is on BBC4 tomorrow evening sometime...I think. That's right. I was at the concert last night and having been to previous John Williams' featured concerts this was certainly a highlight. It had the usual crowd pleaser programme of Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, Superman, Star Wars, Jaws etc but also had some of his lesser played scores such as Mr Chips, Amistad, Munich, Memoirs, Witches of Eastwick, Catch Me If You Can, JFK. It also featured 3 young, very talented soloists on cello, clarinet and sax. Would recommend watching/listening to it if you can.

Whilst no - one could fault the playing of the BBC Concert Orchestra - brilliant as usual, and the Conductor's commitment, did anyone else feel the whole two hours was a bit bland? I know it wasn't all the usual suspects but two hours of latter JW, Harry Potter, Star Wars ,Speilberg scores etc made me get and get a cup of tea. I love music by JW but it has got very , what's the word............................. no sure, but do you know I mean? Now how about a programme of Music by Johnny Williams, stopping at CHIPS of course. Who's first for a list of titles? Pipe Dream of course Now having just been listening to the RTE Recording of Elmer Bernstein Concert in Dublin from Last month, now that is something else. One hell of a Concert and I wish I was at the RAH Last Month for the UK Concert
