Attention U.S. TCM Subscribers: My next TCM recommendation comes with a caveat: If you haven't seen the film before, please do so *before* reading my attached review. Doctor Zhivago will be shown on TCM Monday, July 17 at 5pm PST.

My review is #5 in a series entitled "Top Ten Fool's Gold: The Overrated" whereby I try and take a more critical look at some films of high acclaim. The series' title metaphorically refers to the mineral pyrite, by the way, not those who appreciate the films' many attributes.

Did anyone have a chance to catch this on TCM? Any comments on the film and/or my review?

I've seen it in the past. It's very watchable. I like Lara's Theme (which became "Somewhere, My Love," and gets a cute quotation in The Spy Who Loved Me).

Also, Julie Christie is pretty damn good looking in this movie.
