TUCKER: THE MAN AND HIS DREAM was the story of Preston Tucker, the maverick car designer, and his ill-fated challenge to the auto industry with his revolutionary car concept. Jeff Bridges was Tucker, Joan Allen was his wife Vera, and Martin Landau played New York financier Abe Karatz. Landau was enthusiastic about accepting the pivotal role of Karatz as a means to avoid typecasting. Francis Ford Coppola directed the 1988 film. Joe Jackson provided the score (with an assist from Carmine Coppola). A&M released the soundtrack. Martin Landau was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor, losing to Kevin Kline for A FISH CALLED WANDA. Landau did end up winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

One of the great automobile feature films of all time, and Landau was excellent.

R.I.P. Rollin Hand. You're now up there with Daniel Briggs (Steven Hill), Jim Phelps (Peter Graves) and Barney Collier (Greg Morris) planning your next I.M.F. mission in the sky.

You forgot Paris (Leonard Nimoy).

Barbara Bain, Lee Meriwether, Lesley Ann Warren, Lynda Day George, Peter Lupus, Sam Elliott are still alive.

I was referring to the ORIGINAL cast, which his then wife Barbara Bain was part of, along with Hill's replacement that Landau. Interestingly, Landau was a guest star on the first season, but he worked out so well he became part of the cast. When and Barbara Bain left the series due to a salary dispute, the series' network C.B.S. thought they were worth it but the studio Paramount didn't. Ironically, Paramount is now part of C.B.S..

Bob, do you remember the two part episode of "Mission: Impossible" that was released overseas as a feature film which was scored by Jerry Fielding ("Mission: Impossible Vs. The Mob")?

The "Mission: Impossible" two-part story The Council was released outside the U.S. as a 1968 feature called Mission: Impossible vs. The Mob.
