Thanks, KonstantinosZ! So what do you think of the theme, I love it! I love it! I guess I'm alone here at FSM in preferring "Willie's Theme" over "Marion's. (Unless you do too, henry.) I love the whole score of "Temple" for that matter. I love the "Raiders" score as well, but as Solium said above, "Marion's Theme" doesn't really fit her as a character, and I just like the melody of "Willie's Theme" a little better. Just don't throw "Elsa's Theme" into the mix, or you'll really confuse me! To be honest I love them both the same, however I think WILLIE'S THEME is highly underrated. But yeah, LAST CRUSADE didn't have a love theme. But I do love the Grail Theme!

That has more to do with the difficulty of giving a theme a name. It can be misleading. The theme relates to Marion and Indiana together. And even then the expansiveness of the theme doesn't really fit the relationship except when analyzed with the specific instances of the film. So you have a moment where the theme accompanies the expansiveness of the Arabian desert and that's why the theme has kind of an ethnic flavor and then another moment where it looks like she just got blown up and Indy reacts. Williams tries to find solutions to the film but whether or not that can neatly be summed up in an appropriate theme name, is another thing. Very well stated. It's really a statement that expresses Indie's love for Marion. Not a theme which describes Marion herself. Similar to the romantic material in TESB in that way. Exactly. It's a little more apparent with the Empire score because the cue that highlights the theme is actually called “Han Solo and the Princess,” drawing attention to the fact that it is a theme for their relationship, not either specific character (and Leia already has a theme). “Marion's Theme” is really the Raiders love theme. As for whether I prefer Willie's theme or Marion's — I like them both, but I think Marion's theme has the edge. I say this as somebody who generally likes Temple of Doom a bit more than Raiders, even though I believe Raiders to be the superior score in terms of craftsmanship. Marion's theme has a more meandering quality to the melody, giving it more nooks and crannies to explore.
