We were going to announce our special 8-CD set of Poltergeist II but we decided to hold off for the time being and instead we're releasing something so unexpected, such a Holy Grail for so many that we can no longer contain ourselves with the suspense of it.

Kritzerland is proud to present the world premiere CD release you’ve all been waiting for:

SHARKANSAS WOMEN’S PRISON MASSACRE

Composed and Conducted by Chuck Cirino

What can we say about Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre that hasn’t been said a thousand times before? When the SyFi Channel called writer/producer/director Jim Wynorski and asked him, “Do you have anything like Sharknado?” being the resourceful and clever fellow he is he immediately made up something with a shark – and instantly pitched Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre. Shortly thereafter the film was made on a very long production schedule – fifteen days. Jim Wynorski doesn’t fool around, which is why he’s made more movies than Martin Scorsese.

The fact is, if you’re a fan of exploitation films, you undoubtedly know who Jim Wynorski is. For Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre he, of course, went to his composer of choice, Chuck Cirino – they’re a team, like Hitchcock and Herrmann and Williams and Spielberg and Abbot and Costello. Jim comes from a time when making movies was nothing but a fun adventure, and Chuck understands that sensibility perfectly. Chuck is a fine composer and understands these films and knows just what kind of music they require – as Jim Wynorski says, “Heartfelt and pulse-pounding melodies.” It’s truly a fun score. And any movie that stars both Traci Lords and Dominique Swain is worth seeing.

So, here is the world-premiere CD release of Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre, something you won’t want to be without. Mastered by the great James Nelson, it’s fun, it’s irreverent, it’s Sharkansas!

Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre is limited to 500 copies only and is priced at $19.98, plus shipping. The first 100 orders will receive copies signed by Chuck Cirino and Jim Wynorski, actresses Dominque Swain and Cindy Lucas, and the shark (well, maybe not the shark).

CDs will ship by the last week of July, but we’ve actually been averaging three to five weeks early in terms of shipping ahead of the official ship date. To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.

ATTENTION INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTORS: FOR THIS RELEASE – IF YOU WANT TO OPT-OUT OF RECEIVING IT YOU WILL NEED TO SEND US AN E-MAIL OPTING OUT PRIOR TO THE DATE IT SHIPS – SEND TO kritzerland@gmail.com. IF YOU WISH TO RECEIVE IT, YOU DON”T NEED TO DO ANYTHING. IF YOU ARE NOT AN INDIEGOGO CONTRIBUTOR, ORDER AS YOU NORMALLY WOULD. THANK YOU.

This is a soundtrack that has a cue titled "A Severed Leg Conversation." I think everyone involved knows what they're making and tongues are firmly in cheeks.

Exactly smile

But the score is really fun - clips are up so you can hear. Chuck's very talented. But Jim and I decided to do this just for grins - why not?

NEW KRITZERLAND: CAN'T EVEN SAY THE TITLE!

I thought the title might have the word "bootleg" in it.

I see the shark on the cover is missing a front tooth, so the Arkansas bit checks out.

You certainly guessed right on my reaction to this one, Bruce. Best wishes anyway. Did it cost much to produce? smile

Well, you know what, I'm buying!

The main title is bouncy and fun, and with the addition of a Dominique Swain sig - I'm in! I still need to pick up Rocket To The Moon too.

Is this the first Kritzerland title limited to ONLY 500 COPIES? But how can you hope to make a profit on it then, Bruce? smile

But seriously, if Bruce considered this worthy to release, an open-minded listen to the sound clips is at least in order. Man's got taste.

I don't need no sound clips. It's by Chuck Cirino; that's all I need to know.

Agreed re Cirino (although I'm still playing the sound clips).

What is it with actresses who've played Lolita eventually doing exploitation flicks? Having said that, doesn't this look like much more fun than anything Emma Watson's been in recently? (Or ever?)

Um, wow. This is far past my threshold of synthesizers for a film score. Totally out of left field.

Ordered it alongside Ode To Billy Joe (which makes thematic sense, as Arkansas is next to Mississippi!).

It is our first 500 copy thing. Perhaps our last. This one's just for fun and let me tell you, folks, every label has done a title like this.

As far as I'm concerned you can't go wrong with Chuck Cirino.

His scores always tend to be tuneful, full of energy and while produced on a very tight budget tend to sound pretty good.

Also in the case of this release it helped that it was assembled and mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland.

take a chance, it sounds like it's a whole lot of fun.
