Van Sant mentioned that he's currently working with Elfman at the Rabbit & Rogue Q+A.

His next film is about John Callahan who became a paralyzed after a car accident at age 21, and turned to drawing as a form of therapy.

Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Jonah Hill and Jack Black.

How's the soundtrack situation for this, for those in the know?

It will probably be spare in instrumentation, an acoustic guitar here, a little vibraphone, maybe some voice work.

Hopefully so, yes.

This is the type of Elfman I prefer these days. Screw the big blockbuster films and super hero shenanigans and what-have-you.

I refuse to see this film because I hate everyone's hair style in this poster.

I'll only listen if there's a Weepy Donuts track!

Yeah, but what about the guy who looks like a douchebag? Or beard-O? Or the creepy mustache guy who picks up shicks at K-Mart telling them he's a professional porno maker? And chick with the bland slight-lesbo haircut?

They were doomed even with good hair.

This was an awesome book. I hope the movie does not disappoint.

Samples sound very eclectic -probably closer to 'The End of the Tour' than any other Elfman score.

'Mother's Name' is 'Alice's Farm' from Promised Land...very strange.
