Deep Throat – End Scene (also the end scene music for Ghost in the Machine)

Love Deep Throat end scene.

DEEP THROAT -Deep Thoat meets Mulder at the track "They've been here for a long, long time"

S1 - Deep Throat: End Scene

Deep Throat (Scully and Mulder at the bar/Mulder meets DP, Mulder and DP end scene),

Do you guys not have Volume 3? It's on Volume 3, disc one, track 3 "UFO Technology." Every cue in that final scene is in that track, just in a different order.
That scene is the best scene of the series, but I would prefer music we don't have, instead of recycled cues in a different order.

Not to be contentious but not every cue is on the "UFO Technology" track. The last 15 seconds of that scene have a motif of the X-Files theme that is not on that track or any release to my knowledge.

It's sadly inevitable that there will be missing favorites when you're dealing with a show that encompasses 200+ episodes of wall-to-wall music. LLL has done an absolutely amazing job with these releases, and I hope that as long as they sell they'll keep releasing them. Most of my favorite (still unreleased) cues are from episodes nobody ever watched more than once...the teaser as well as the dinner scene between Scully and CSM in En Ami, the finale to Audrey Pauley, Dod Kalm has that really eerie metallic clanking motif, Skinner visiting his wife in the hospital at the end of Avatar, the entire score to Rain King is absolutely one of my favorites too. Mark Snow just consistently knocked it out of the park with this show.

In my dreamy dream world we would have gotten isolated scores on the recent Blu Ray releases, but until that ever happens I'm happy with whatever LLL chooses to do. These releases have been such a treat!

a new take on the En Ami video with some extra minutes, I'd love to have the entire score released

I finally updated my page on our requests. I removed what was covered in Volume 3, and added everything I could find here and elsewhere. The list is getting more and more precise, with timestamps for many cues.

The list now includes requests from 147 episodes!

--> http://www.eatthecorn.com/more-music-from-the-x-files/

And my review of the Event Series release:
http://www.eatthecorn.com/2017/08/17/x-files-music-event-series-release-more-to-come/

I updated the 3-star rating column as well, this is quite subjective, but there are many cues that I think are universal recurring requests that LLL must have taken notice by now!

Speaking of which, I was actually a bit surprised by the contents of Vol.3. There were many greats (for me the first CD is pure gold!), and then there were some episodes nobody had asked for as far as I remember, and then a large part of the set covered essentially full episodic scores for just a handful of episodes -- while many cues often requested are often 2-3 minute cues from individual episodes. I'm certainly not ungrateful, especially since we will get a Volume 4, but I will be more relaxed and open to extra material when my wish list of absolute best will have been released!

PS: I'll be re-editing to include video links as they come, Benjamin has been busy!

Wow, amazing work as always! I really enjoy reading your reviews and articles!

There is still a lot more music to be released from the X-Files.

This being said, MV are there any news on the Volume 4 Set? wink

I would like to request the music from "Max" Season 4, Ep 18. There is a scene with Mulder boarding a plane in which we hear mysterious piano music. He says, "Hey Scully? My watch just stopped." Suddenly the plane starts shaking and bright lights shine in through the windows. We hear frantic cello and low register piano notes. I have always liked that music and it's such an memorable X-Files scene. Thanks for your consideration!

Hey does anyone knows how to delete a post reply?
I only have the "Edit Message" option and when I try to edit the comment pops up as another one frown

Hi, I made an extensive list of cues I would like to see included, Eat the Corn-style, to submit to your site. However on several attempts the contact form didn't work and I haven't found another way to contact you. Is there any way I can get my list to you (if you still have a use for it)? Thanks!

Hi, I registered specially so I could post a reply. I made an extensive list of cues I would like to be included on Volume 4, both additional cues from episodes that have already been released on the previous volumes and ones that have so far been left out. I was intending to send it to Eat the Corn, but sadly couldn't manage to submit it.

I absolutely love the music from The X-Files, and used to keep whole episodes on videotape just because there were 20 seconds of music I really liked! So I was really excited to discover Volumes 1-3 and will be buying Volume 4 whatever is on it.

I would really like to hear some of the more melodic cues on the new compilation.

The cues I would be really disappointed if they were not included are:
- additional music from Paper Hearts (there is a lot of music from this episode I'd still like on a CD, but ever since the episode came out, I've been waiting for the last 20 seconds before the credits, where Mulder puts away the last heart in his desk),
- The Field Where I Died (the scene where Melissa tells Mulder and Scully about her past life as Sarah, from about 15.30 minutes, but certainly from 17.00-20.50 minutes);
- Avatar (where Mulder and Skinner talk in the interrogation room and where Skinner talks to his unconscious wife at her hospital bedside);
- Redux II (where Mulder cries at Scully's bedside; I kept this episode on video catalogued as 'One with nice music' for this cue. I couldn't believe this cue was used in the trailer to promote Volume 1 and then not included on the compilation!);
- Mind's Eye (particularly the end);
- Terms of Endearment;
- The Rain King;
- Sein und Zeit;
- Closure;
- the piano melody at the end of Triangle.

I would also be very happy for the dinner scene from En Ami to be included. Episodes with three stars on Eatthecorn.com I would also like to see on the CD are:
- Duane Barry;
- Ascension;
- Apocrypha;
- Tunguska;
- Terma;
- Memento Mori.

While I have many more cues I would love to see included, I think I wouldn't be so keen on a full score. As far as I'm concerned, enough 'background'/atmospheric cues have been included on the previous volumes and I would prefer to concentrate on the gems that have been left out so far. Although, that said, if some of my personal favourites are left off Volume 4, it might be better to possess them, dialogue-free, buried in the full score, than not at all. In this case, I would also prefer a download version, though I can imagine that there are enough people out there who would like it on CD to justify the 500-1000 limited edition. Also, if the full score is released, it would be practical to have it divided into tracks, possibly ones not too long, to make it easy to find your hidden gems.

Meanwhile, I await Volume 4 with bated breath!

I hope I’m not way too late with my requests, but thank you very much in advance for your consideration of my list. The bolded titles are must-haves (in my book, of course), the titles between brackets are a bit less essential than those not within brackets, but would still be nice to have.

I’m still in the middle of my rewatch, but I’ve noticed a couple of cues which are really, really great but seem to have flown below the radar.

Regarding full scores, my top candidates to receive the complete score treatment are TRIANGLE and GETHSEMANE.

unreleased episodes (in broadcast order)

DARKNESS FALLS
- Night to Day / Mulder Lets Spinney Go 2min10
(- Rescue Arrives / In the Hospital Centre 1min35)

FIREWALKER
- Helicopter arrival cue
(Great cue which seems to have flown under the radar. Ha!)

APOCRYPHA
- Car Rental Papers / North Dakota Finale 6min50
- Melissa’s Grave 1min30
- Ending: Krycek Locked Up 1min

UNREQUITED
- Prologue (3min10)

SYNCHRONY
- On the Bus / Following Lisa Ianelli
(seems to be Lisa Ianelli's theme)

TERMS OF ENDEARMENT
- The Burning Scene
(The choir motif from Field Where I Died is used again in this episode, which is nice, but what I would really love to have released is the piano motif from this episode. It’s the motif that bookends the burning scene, which is great in itself of course. I forgot if there was a more noteworthy appearance.)

MONDAY
- “I Don’t Want to Tempt Fate” / Conversation with Pam 3min45
(esp. the short moving strings fragment with Mulder outside the bank is a highlight of the episode)
(- First Hold-Up (after main titles) / Talking with Steve/Bernard 5min45 (mostly for the action music during the hold-up))

PER MANUM
- Ending: Never Give Up on a Miracle (Extended Scully Theme)

previously released episodes (in broadcast order)

PILOT
- MOSQUITO BITES 2min
- Peggy Is Dead / Fire 1min40
- Billy’s Hypnosis 1min30

DEEP THROAT
(- Opening Shot of Washington DC (0min30))
(- Drive from Café to Airbase Fence (piano motif) (1min) (or: Drive from Café to Fence/Car Window Blown Out 1min30). This is the same piano motif is also heard later on when Mulder is trespassing on the Airbase’s grounds, and since the latter’s released, this cue is not that essential anymore.)

FALLEN ANGEL
- MULDER INFILTRATES THROUGH THE FOREST (BY DAYLIGHT) (cue during the main credits, after the Deep Throat scene)
- Mulder Sneaks In (By Night) (cue following the previous cue)

EBE
- Finale: Inside the Power Plant / Chase 2min20

GROTESQUE
- Patterson’s Advice

PIPER MARU
- Prologue 4min20
(- Kallenchuk Stakeout 1min15 (or: Mulder Meets Geraldine / Kallenchuk Stakeout 2min45))

731
- Mulder Atop the Train 0min40 (cue directly following the main title)

HERRENVOLK
(- Death of X)

KADDISH
(- Prologue)
(- Mulder & Scully conversation in red car (1min15))

GETHSEMANE
- FIRST TREK: Opening after main titles – 1st Trek theme statement (2min30)
- Uncovering the Alien / Finding the tube in the ice

REDUX
- At the Racetrack with Cigarette-Smoking Man
(Just noticed this terrific cue on my rewatch: absolutely essential and classic X-Files music in my opinion. Please release this smile)
- Mulder enters the main hall of the DOD / Kritschgau spots Mulder
(Nothing really crucial, but contains a nice piano fragment)

REDUX II
- Scully’s Room

THE PINE BLUFF VARIANT
- SCULLY SEARCHES FOR MULDER’S BANK ROBBERY / MULDER’S EXECUTION 3min50
Everybody asked for the prologue music, this one contains the same thematic material but is more climactic.

THE END
- Chasing the Cigarette-Smoking Man
(scene after titles: chase scene on the mountain with great action music)

TRIANGLE
- BETRAYED / TO JAMAICA / MULDER IS TAKEN TO THE BALLROOM (3min)
The cue that starts when the traitor tells the Germans about Thors Hammer; it goes on scoring the scene in which Kersh wants to go to Jamaica; and concludes with the strong climax and final statement of the 'quest' motif when Mulder is transported back; the cue ends when he's thrown into the ballroom. This final statement of this theme is the best and the most dramatic of the whole episode. This cue runs for about 3 minutes.
- PROLOGUE
- Ballroom Sequence (Hot Liquorice adaptation)
- Final Hospital Scene – piano (1min)

DREAMLAND II
- music following the main titles (the scene picking up on where Dreamland I left off)

TWO FATHERS
- CSM gives assignment to Spender/Spender in car/To the house
- Final cue

THE GOLDBERG VARIATION
(I’d love to hear more variations – ha! – on the theme that was already released, that’s to say, if there’s anything worthwhile left. Not that familiar with the episode, haven’t reached it yet on my rewatch.)

In general, regarding unreleased music, I’d love a bigger focus this time around on seasons 3, 6 and 7, if possible of course. Compared to 1, 2, 4 and 5 these are relatively underrepresented. 8 and 9 as well of course, but I’m not that familiar with the music from those two seasons.

It would also be great if everything that’s left from the soundtrack could be released. In order of importance (group 1 > group 2 > group 3):
OST 3: Raptus (first part) = first cue of Pilot
OST 11, from Ghost in the Machine
OST 11, Duane Barry prologue: 2:12-ending
OST 18, from The Erlenmeyer Flask
OST 19, from Oubliette: the last 25 seconds have dialogue
OST 20, “Kyrie”, first part

OST 7, from Gender Bender
OST 6, from The Calusari
the two cues on OST 9, from Oubliette (the second part has some SFX over the cue)
OST 08 first 30 seconds, from Roland, more or less clean but it’s not the entire cue + opening & ending not entirely clean

OST 16, from Shapes
OST 15, from Humbug
OST 5, from F. Emasculata

I also must say there's been good music in the recent season 11. though I would buy anything, i did think the 2 discser for the very mediocre 6 episode season 10 was overkill. But this season has been much improved, and will be longer, so hopefully the fine folks at fox make the current release a pretty easy/enticing process.

Thank you so much for doing this LLL.

Season 3 was criminally underrated in Volume 3 and deserves special attention in Volume 4. Seasons 1 - 3 feature some of the best music, so I'd love if the set focuses on these seasons.

GHOST IN THE MACHINE 1x06
Technology theme used throughout

ICE 1x07
Spooky base motif

BEYOND THE SEA 1x12
Scully sees "waterfall", uncovers necklace of victim

GENDERBENDER 1x13
Teaser Techno Music

DARKNESS FALLS 1x19
Various "bug" motifs

DUANE BARRY 2x05

ASCENSION 2x06
The music at the end where Mulder stares into the dark sky.
Lots of other great cues others have mentioned too, like the cable car chase scene.

FIREWALKER 2x09
Helicopter flies over the forest.

IRRESISTIBLE 2x13

DOD KALM 2x19
Music that plays when Scully recites the Norse tale at the end of the episode. "I hear them calling".

OUR TOWN 2x24
Start of Act 3 as camera pans across bones.

PAPER CLIP 3x02
Strugglehold Mine. The bit with the deep bass as they arrive at the building.
End scene.

2SHY 3x06
Theme that recurs throughout.

OUBLIETTE 3x08
End scene

SYZYGY 3x13

GROTESQUE 3x14
Patterson's Request
Teaser
Episode has some other fantastic music throughout too.

APOCRYPHA 3x16
Melissa's Grave

WETWIRED 3x23
The creepy theme that opens the episode and becomes a recurring motif.

UNRUHE 4x02
Teaser and recurring motif.

NEVER AGAIN 4x13
Tattoo scene

MEMENTO MORI 4x15
Skinner meets CSM in Mulder's office
Mulder & Scully hug / CSM in Skinner's office

SYNCHRONY 4x19
The theme that recurs throughout the episode

REDUX II 5x03
Mulder cries at Scully's bedside (also a recurring motif throughout the episode)

MILAGRO 6x18
Teaser
"Agent Scully is already in love"
Pretty much anything from this episode

Probably lots more, but those are the main ones I'm eager to see on this set.

Mark Snow is appearing at X-Fest 2 in early June next year in the Chicago area (he's their first announced guest). Seems like one could move some units there. Hopefully a good motivating date to get some of these projects done and out there!
