Who all is going to Comic Con this year in San Diego? I haven't been able to get tickets for any day besides Sunday for a while until this year when I got Friday, Saturday, and Sunday badges. So I'm excited about seeing some epic panels. It would also be great to meet with some of my film score fan friends who will be around for this. Who is going?

I'll be there for all 5 days, located in artist alley. DD-4. smile

Updated my post, I am actually going Sunday too. I forgot I ordered all 3 days until I opened my badges. So I could explore the exhibition hall on Sunday most likely.

Been to 20 San Diego Cons from the '80s up through 2012. Haven't been able to get a badge since with the awful new registration process. We used to be able to register for the next year by getting in a (usually very short) line after picking up our badges! Those were the days. (We also got mail-in registration forms for early bird prices, before they retooled the process.) Hopefully I can get back down there next year. I love San Diego.

Yeah agreed. The new registration system is a toss up. You never know if you'll be able to get badges or not.

Which hotel did you get? Most of the time I ended up at either the Bristol or Sheraton, both of which I liked a lot. Everything's expensive as hell, haha!

I will be attending all five days. It would be fun to meet up with anyone attending. If you still have my contact information, send me a text if you want to meet up for a beer. If you don't still have it, I can send you a PM. Should be a great time!

I remember those days. In just a few minutes you could have next year's tickets for a well discounted price. Sadly the convention getting bigger isn't always better.

I live in SD. So no hotel needed. I'm happy to show people in town some of the new epic downtown breweries. I'll be walking to either Half Door or Resident after most days.

Michael, would be awesome to meet up with you at one of the breweries. They are far enough away to be not too full of comic-con people but close enough to walk.

That's like 3000 miles out of my way.

Believe me, sol/ado--you'd hate it: Comic-related stuff everywhere!

Your really convinced of this whole sol/ado thing. I grew out of comics when I was 14. Don't know about Ado. wink

Ha! These days it isn't really about comics anymore. I used to go for anime related stuff and to buy manga back when I could show up on a Sunday and buy a ticket that same day.

These days I mainly go for TV and Movie related stuff. One year I got to see a Bones panel featuring the majority of the cast. Another year I caught the final Dexter panel. This year I'm not so sure what I intend to see since they haven't released a schedule yet.

Yeah, it's sooo much bigger than just the comics now, but even the smaller conventions like the (only) one (to date) I went to in Miami two years ago could boast numerous film and TV people: Karen Gilian, the Sponge Bob creator, and the insanely gorgeous Hayley Atwell who must be seen in person to appreciate her megawatt charisma. There were many more--and that includes Manga creators-- but I'm not up enough on current stuff to remember who the hell they were.

There were the usual Star Trek people (Koenig, Nichols, etc.) and time was they could headline a con themselves but now they're just another $60.00-an-autograph table.

You can have the insanely gorgeous Hayley Atwell, I'll take the insanely gorgeous Karen Gillan.

And yes Solium I realize it is not something everyone can attend, which is why I created this thread, to connect with those who can.
