Being almost 63, I grew up with the original Batman TV series on ABC. Campy? You bet. Supporting guest stars? Otto Preminger as Mr. Freeze to name only one. Who doesn't recognize Neal Hefti's classic theme. I met Adam West a few times over the years, mostly at memorabilia shows he did with Burt Ward. He could be a bit difficult at times but the lines waiting to meet him to sign their model Batmobiles or soundtrack CDs remained long and enthusiastic. He will be missed by millions. I only have two things left to say: POW!!! ZOWIE!!!

Oh, my. 4th grade. Staid (male) teacher trying to illustrate references last night's episode with the Joker tying Batman up in ribbon. Class cracks up, can't believe staid (male) teacher watched what we watched. Oh and illustration was successful. We got the point.

Last year I got the DVDs from library and watched every single episode and remembered them all. All! The scores!!

Him and Burt kept publicizing that this year was going to be the FINAL TOUR. When I heard that months ago, I thought one of the two is sick. Looks like it was Adam. Very sad news indeed. Such an iconic character he made better in the 60's.

The one and only Batman!
They don't make movies or TV shows like that anymore!

Such a loss!
Rest In Peace.

Wow, that hits hard. You have no idea of how much I idolized Batman back in the day. I had a Batman Hallowe'en costume, two different Batman utility belts, Corgi die-cast models of the Batmobile (I still have one), and on and on. There was even one night when my family had tickets to a Cubs vs. Sox evening game (I live in Chicago), and I didn't want to go because I would miss Batman on TV. Sure, I know it sounds stupid today, but remember: 1) I was eight years old; 2) There were no VCRs back then.

Anyway, rest in peace, Adam West. Thanks for bringing so much to millions of kids like me.

Maybe it's time for LaLa Land Records to reconsider doing a Batman 66 soundtrack boxed set.

Just saying.

For those who live in or near Los Angeles:

The bat-signal will shine one final time for a beloved Dark Knight.

Adam West will be honored with a lighting of the iconic bat-signal in Los Angeles Thursday night, with L.A. mayor Eric Garcetti and L.A. police chief Charlie Beck doing the honors.

The public is invited to the event, which is taking place at 9 p.m. Thursday - 6/15/17 - at City Hall (200 N Spring St, Los Angeles, CA 90012). West, who played Caped Crusader on the classic 1960s Batman TV show, died Saturday at 88.

I worked with Adam West briefly many, many years ago. I was fortunate to have the privilege to have produced a record spoofing "Batman." (Boy Wonder was also on the record.) It was titled "Miranda," but unfortunately was not a hit. I can personally add that he was one of the most charming and warm individuals I had ever worked with. RIP

Good to hear, Stu! West was an icon in my book.
