The nonsensical story of 1996's MILK & MONEY centers on a medical-school dropout named David (Robert Petkoff), who seems to have a knack for standing on New York City sidewalks and having odd things involving gorgeous women happen to him. One recruits him to help her make a movie; another asks him, without explanation, to take custody of a rectangular box. Marin Hinkle, Sarah Winkler, Margaret Colin and Calista Flockhart are among the lovelies. Dina Merrill plays "Ellen," David's mother. Michael Bergmann directed the comedy, which does not have an original score.

Although Dina Merrill was never a lead actress or top-tier star, she was always a welcome presence on the screen.
