Listening to Giacchino's CD for Jurassic World, the listening order seems strange. After taking us through the drama and action of the film, there appears at the end at least three cues that seem totally out of place and should be earlier in the track order. I've been doing AB comparisons to the CD and DVD and can hear no cues that sound like track 21 "It's a Small Jurassic World" (well, maybe a few seconds only but so far down in the mix as to be virtually unheard), track 22 "The Hammond Lab Overture", and track 23 "The Brockway Monorail". I can't find any notation in the CD packaging that these cues were not used in the film. There are scenes where these cues may have been used, but were may have been dropped after editing. Then there is track 24 "Sunrise Over Jurassic World" composed by Giacchino's son, Mick. Is that in the film? Even stranger, upon doing some research on Mick Giacchino, I found every track on the CD attached to his name but with the note "uncredited". Did Michael compose the score or did Mick? The end credits give him credit with that track, but with no other listing as arranger, orchestrator, or even copyist! There's not much to it but it's a very nice arrangement but, then, he was, what... 17?

Can anyone shed light on this?

The four tracks at the end of the CD are source music. They are all used in the film.

Mick Giacchino composed two of the source cues in the film - one of the ones that is on the CD, and one that isn't. Michael Giacchino composed everything else.

Maybe this will help, too

Thanks for the quick reply. Upon taking another and closer listen last night, I did detect some of these tracks as source (I figured they were), I just didn't expect them in this order (eg., I thought the Brockway Monorail would be as they entered the park, not much later on another monorail scene). I think I heard the Mick G. piece as the kids entered the gyrospere and it is heard again in the end credits.(and, of course, in the Jimmy Fallon scene).

Many many thanks for the cue sheet breakdown (and, as always, got a kick out of Giacchino's pun-tastic titles.)
