Mine was when the first film finished and I realised that I never had to watch any more in the series if I didn't want to.

There was only one film, old sport. The ending was unambiguous. Good film. I saw it at the cinema.

Me, too. At a cinema complex just off the M8 motorway outside of Glasgow. And I thought it was an excellent film. The thing is, I was the only attendant at the showing of the film, the only viewer in the cinema. Paul Newman was great, but then near the end James Garner appeared - and he wasn't even listed on the film's poster outside (?) He was great too. Really nice, under-rated film. IMHO.

I was pleased to see that the film had an Elmer Bernstein score, which I did not know at the time.

Haven't seen Twilight since that day at the cinema and I liked the film, which was a solid effort though I'd probably like it more now. Hard to believe this is a nineteen-year-old movie now.

Getting back on track, I've always suggested good novels to my daughters. Then they asked me to read the TWILIGHT novels. I have NEVER forgiven them. Maybe I'll remove them from my will. The books were more horrid than the movies.

I haven't seen either the vampire saga Tall Guy was referring to in his original post, or the high quality film referred to starring Hackman, Newman, Sarandon and Garner. I'd like to check out the latter. The former, not so much.... smile

TG never specified which Twilight film the thread was about, so this time his cheeky wit cost him.

No one spoofs a Phelps thread and gets away with it.

No, TG just thought he was watching the Lew Harper films in reverse order.

Joan, feel free to replace the disinherited offspring with my details, which I'll email to you. I'm even happy to assume Power of Attorney to make decisions about your health if you need someone. Don't go thinking that the two things are linked, though...

I'm prepared to compromise with your family. They can have the CDs.

(Jim, thanks for the Leo. I feel honoured.)

You earned it, old sport. smile

Now go and watch TWILIGHT '98 and learn to appreciate The Greatness That is Paul Newman (and James Garner, and Gene Hackman, and Elmer Bernstein).

C'mon Sones! Every anti-hero has to have that humiliating moment! Even FSM patron saint Indiana Jones got a mirror to the chin!

Jake Gittes' sliced nose also comes to mind...
