I'm going into this with much more muted expectations. I assume it's too much to hope for that Chris Carter is a bit more hands off this time. As for Mark Snow's scores... I'm hoping that they'll be mixed more prominently this time. I'm looking forward to LLL's set coming out next week so that I can actually make out what Snow composed!
Great. I felt season 10 was widely uneven in quality (I really disliked the "goofy" monster-of-the-week episodes, which came off as far more cheesy than those back in the day), but the good episodes were really good. So I hope they're able to build on that and create something worthwhile and serious, with more emphasis on the mythology.
Ugh...last year's mini was HORRIBLE...awkward, overstuffed and with none of the spooky atmosphere of classic X-Files. Hope this next batch is better and offers some damn CLOSURE for these characters.
The whole six-episode mini season was entirely worth it if for NO other reason than we got another brilliant Darin Morgan episode. His four episodes across Season 2 and 3 set the mold for all the lesser attempts by other writers to do "quirky" and "funny" with the show. It had been over 20 years since he wrote a full episode in his very unique voice. I saw the mini-season on sale at Best Buy during Christmas for $10 and bought it solely to have his 5th episode.
Musically though, I can't remember a dang thing about the season.
Gillian has stated that she won't be dying her hair ever again due to the damage it's taken over the years, so the wig is probably here to stay.
Hopefully the increased episode count gives Carter and co. space to actually tell some proper stories this time; setting aside the fun Darin Morgan ep, the last season was a confused rushjob at best and godawful retcon nonsense at worst.

Is that what she said? I had read that she was going to go back to red for the show but having been platinum blonde for The Fall so recently would likely result in her hair falling out.
