You know what they say about "think alike." Back in the 80s I did a project that centered around racism and utilized the same song with more or less similar pictures. Got criticized by professor for what I was told was a too heavy-handed theme. DB did what I was supposed to do. I think? confused

well lets think this out.

you were addressing history. a new way of history. on t.v. Lincoln's death was by pictures and telegraph. the dawn of modern news. what can be heavy hand about it?

the song points out the sadness of these events. it's death too soon.

Exactly. I should have stuck with the three men (plus Bobby) and that they were cut down before their work was complete. Btw, heard Dion sing a serious rock version of this song in person around fifteen years ago.
