TUESDAY, APRIL 18 AMERICAN ASSASSIN---trailer released for the Mitch Rapp movie starring Dylan O'Brien and Michael Keaton. Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XwHAGKxsbcg DRONE---trailer released for the thriller movie starring Sean Bean (GAME OF THRONES). Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRG4f3ZVO8k BATGIRL---a source said Scarlett Johannson and Charlize Theron are vying for the starring role in the Joss Whedon movie, "It's an all-out war. All of them are perfect for it, and all have exceedingly good action credentials." The source said Johansson, "is drooling over the chance to play BATGIRL. She may have issues with her Marvel deal [as Black Widow], but she's determined to override that little fact and attach herself to this project....[Johannson] loved the character for her sharp and snappy ways." The source said Theron, "has put the word out to her agents to get her that role-no matter what the cost. She thinks BATGIRL would be a great follow-up to her villainess role in THE FATE OF THE FURIOUS." GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2---Sylvester Stallone's cameo role is Stakar Ogord/Starhawk. Stallone said, "Stakar had banished Yondu many years earlier for doing something wrong and he finally sees him almost twenty years later at this particular establishment called the Iron Lotus where all of the Ravagers go to blow off some steam. And then we have a confrontation which is pretty intense and it’s kind of a father/son type of thing and now he’s going to have to pay the piper. His karma has come back ten-fold.” Also, director James Gunn confirmed he's returning for the next sequel, “So, yes, I’m returning to write and direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. In the end, my love for Rocket, Groot, Gamora, Star-Lord, Yondu, Mantis, Drax, and Nebula – and some of the other forthcoming heroes – goes deeper than you guys can possibly imagine... I can’t fricking wait to get started." KING KONG SKULL ISLAND---tv series underway based on the original 1933 movie and unrelated to the movie KONG: SKULL ISLAND. The tv series will focus on "a female-led, multi-cultural ensemble that delves fully into the wonders and horrors of Skull Island and its origins." STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI---director Rian Johnson said about Rey's parentage in the sequel, "something that is absolutely going to be addressed in the movie." DEADPOOL 2---Deadpool creator Robert Liefeld released his sketch of Josh Brolin as Cable. BRAVEHEART---when budget negotiations began for the movie, Mel Gibson went to Paramount Pictures to discuss its share of the budget. Paramount offered only $15 million, not enough to pay for even the battle scenes, and wanted 25% of box office receipts. Agent Jeff Berg said about Gibson, "He grabbed a large glass ashtray and threw it through the wall. He threw the ashtray through the wall!" Gibson confirmed the incident, "I was like, 'What the f*ck do you people mean? I turned down three jobs — blah, blah, blah.' I was kind of upset, probably a little over the top. It was all posturing bullsh*t." A week later, Paramount agreed to Gibson's terms. A STAR IS BORN---photo released of Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in the remake movie. ALIEN---the original 1979 movie will be shown in Regal RPX theaters on April 26 to celebrate the second annual Alien Day.

My choice for Batgirl would be Kat Dennings. You might remember her from THOR: Johannson and Theron are not who I would want, and not even close.

Oh, you're serious. That's what people said when Michael Keaton got BATMAN. The comedic actor turned serious and did a great job. The picture made money, too.
