That's a very 'Hyams' piece of in-yo-face dialog. Don't you just love it? You won't find its like in anything other than a Hyams production. Capricorn One had quite a bit of it.

Yeah, it's like 1984 - thousands of times over.

Absolutely! When I went to see it, I was blown away by the dialogue. So many quotable lines. Audience members were laughing and clapping. In your face, yet throwaway as well. I love this film so much because even though it deals with serious stuff, it never takes itself too seriously. The very reason I don't want it to be remade, Hollywood would only ruin it - unless Hyams himself was willing to do it. It's just right just the way it is.

Capricorn One springs to mind. Certainly the hoax landing conspiracy stuff

Hardly prophetic. Bill Kaysing and others had already been barking about a hoax landing on the Moon.

True enough, BUT how many films dealt with it in detail the way C1 did? I thought it was great how Hyams laid it out as far as the setup and filming of the hoax landing and how Bru tried to give Kay a hint in his televised conversation (about their previous vacation) from space with her. Caulfield picked up and followed up on it and from then on, it was downhill all the way.
I remember the days when some folks refused to believe in the Moon landing because in their minds all they saw were the TV simulations. I knew quite a few of those folks.
It appears the conspiracy theories around the landings have grown from a small fringe group to millions.
C1 was definitely prophetic about "fake news".
