I am currently putting together a score that I recorded with Elmer Bernstein quite a few years ago now ... finally got the go ahead...so hope to release around the time of the Elmer Bernstein tribute concert in London...
Incredible news! Thanks for pursuing this historically important release, James -- and letting us know about your success. Really looking forward to it, and I hope you'll be willing to write a remembrance for the liner notes of your time recording Elmer's final score with him.
Was Bear McCreary involved with this score at all or did he just work on Kings of the Sun, recorded at the same sessions? Either way, I suspect he'd be happy to write a note for the booklet as well, since he was very close with Elmer at the time.
This is great news! Bernstein's final score. Coupled with the announcement of LLL's "Sons of Katie Elder," it's a good day to be an Elmer Bernstein fan!
James -- "Cecil B. DeMille: An American Epic" is more than welcome of course, but would it be possible for you to release "Kings of the Sun" as a standalone CD as well??
